FalconX is on the lookout for a Senior Manager specializing in Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting. This pivotal position is designed for an individual who possesses a blend of analytical prowess and leadership capabilities. As part of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing critical financial reporting operations during a period of significant growth, ensuring adherence to U.S. GAAP and relevant regulatory requirements.

What you'll do
- Spearhead the management of technical accounting and reporting projects, setting clear operational objectives while overseeing departmental functions and budgets to ensure effective execution.
- Conduct thorough investigations and reconciliations of intricate historical financial data, leading both internal and external teams to maintain an audit-ready condition.
- Act as a primary internal authority on ASC 606 and ASC 805, with a focus on principal versus agent determinations, mergers and acquisitions, and decentralized finance yield strategies.
- Oversee the creation and management of detailed financial disclosures and Management Discussion and Analysis (MD&A) for potential registration statements and interactions with the SEC.
- Design and implement standard operating procedures for offshore teams, improving the integration of crypto sub-ledgers with NetSuite to optimize month-end closing processes.
- Collaborate closely with Trading and Business Development teams to assess and implement the accounting implications of DeFi yields and wrapped assets prior to their rollout.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory capital computations and filing frameworks for entities such as CFTC Swap Dealers, Futures Commission Merchants, or SEC Broker-Dealers.
- Mentor and guide team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence within the department.
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience transitioning from a Big 4 Audit or Technical Desk to Accounting Advisory roles or in-house accounting leadership within a rapidly expanding digital assets firm, FinTech startup, broker-dealer, or investment bank.
- Practical knowledge of financial record-keeping, regulatory capital computations, and filing frameworks relevant to entities like CFTC Swap Dealers, Futures Commission Merchants, or SEC Broker-Dealers.
- Proven ability to manage multiple departments or projects simultaneously, successfully leading large-scale initiatives while effectively delegating tasks to team members or offshore resources.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to generate financial reports from high-volume, unstructured data sources.
- Proficiency in Workiva and NetSuite software.
- Direct experience with SEC Pre-clearance, Purchase Accounting (ASC 805), and DeFi Accounting practices.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various teams, evaluating and implementing accounting implications of new financial products.

Practical notes
- The anticipated salary range for this role is between $157,000 and $199,000 in New York City. This position is also eligible for additional compensation, including performance bonuses, equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including location, experience, and qualifications.
