Manager, Field Operations
Job description
About the role
You are the operational spine of Exowatt's first large-scale module deployment, translating our P3 technology promise into on-the-ground reality. In this manager-level position, you own the complete lifecycle of our anchor customer deployment from the first pre-contract site visit through final commissioning and early post-sale support. You orchestrate scope, schedule, and deliverables so that modular solar, storage, and on-demand electricity arrive on time and function as specified. You serve as the single point of accountability when deployed modules require product or field service intervention, ensuring issues are resolved swiftly and transparently. You build reusable playbooks, checklists, and communication templates that will become the standard foundation for every future deployment as we scale to multiple sites. You operate at the critical intersection of customer expectations, engineering requirements, supply chain constraints, and field execution teams. You translate contractual obligations into a credible field execution plan and then rally internal stakeholders to deliver against it. You communicate with clarity and confidence to customers, representing Exowatt as the trusted operator of our energy infrastructure.
Key facts
What you'll do
Coordinate pre-contract site visits to validate installation conditions, site constraints, and interconnection realities before proposals are finalized.
Support bidding and contracting by articulating operational assumptions, risks, and dependencies so that commercial terms reflect physical reality.
Own the end-to-end project program plan, including milestones, deliverables tracker, and schedule risk management tied to customer commitments.
Coordinate permitting processes with local authorities, ensuring electrical, structural, and environmental approvals move efficiently without blocking deployment.
Manage logistics for the delivery of P3 modules, including staging locations, handling procedures, and timing aligned with site readiness.
Oversee installation sequencing and startup activities so that modules are safely commissioned and integrated with the customer's energy needs.
Serve as the primary liaison for post-sale field service, triaging issues and coordinating product or technical support with Engineering and Supply Chain.
Build standardized communication templates and escalation paths for project status reporting to customers and internal teams.
Establish quality gates and acceptance criteria for each deployment phase, ensuring consistency and reliability as volumes increase.
Define metrics for on-time delivery, first-time-right installations, and issue resolution to inform continuous improvement across the Field Operations function.
Partner with Supply Chain & Manufacturing to forecast material needs, identify bottlenecks, and align production with deployment schedules.
Translate customer requirements into technical and operational checklists that guide engineering design and field execution without ambiguity.
Own documentation for as-built conditions, warranties, and operational data handoffs so that future service and scaling are well informed.
Act as the day-to-day point of contact during critical deployment windows, maintaining visibility for both Exowatt and the customer.
Requirements
You have a bachelor's degree in engineering, operations, construction management, or a related technical field that provides foundational understanding of energy systems and installation processes.
You bring previous experience managing complex project execution, field operations, or technical deployments where coordination across multiple functions was essential.
You have a track record of working directly with hardware, logistics, or energy technology in a commercial or industrial context, demonstrating comfort with on-site realities.
You are comfortable interpreting technical documents, schematics, and operational procedures so you can communicate precisely with engineering teams.
You have strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to explain intricate operational details to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
You exhibit disciplined project management practices, including schedule tracking, risk identification, and milestone management in dynamic environments.
You are highly organized, with the ability to maintain detailed deliverables trackers, checklists, and status reports while juggling multiple priorities.
You are willing to travel to customer sites as needed, including within Miami, FL and Austin, TX, and to work flexible hours when deployment timelines demand it.
You are legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship at this time, and you meet the eligibility requirements to handle the operational responsibilities of this role.
Nice to have
Experience with solar energy systems, energy storage, or distributed power generation technologies that align with Exowatt's P3 platform.
Background in construction, field service, or operations for hardware and infrastructure companies that require on-site execution.
Familiarity with startup environments where roles are broad, responsibilities evolve quickly, and cross-functional collaboration is constant.
Practical notes
This role is based in Miami, FL or Austin, TX and is full-time. Travel to customer sites within these regions and occasional overnight stays may be required during critical deployment windows. The position is exempt and salaried in alignment with company policies. Start date and specific hours will be confirmed with the hiring team.
