About the role

You independently own trust, compliance, and risk initiatives that help Everlaw scale responsibly and earn long-term confidence from customers and regulators. Operating at the intersection of customer trust, compliance operations, audit readiness, and vendor risk, you translate Everlaw's security posture into clear, audit-ready, and customer-facing deliverables while streamlining how compliance work gets done. This is a full-time, exempt position based in our Oakland, CA office with a hybrid work schedule: in office M/W/Th with the option to work from home on Tu/Fr. You will serve as a key liaison between technical and business stakeholders, ensuring that trust programs are not only accurate but also efficient and sustainable. You will approach each initiative with a bias toward action, using structured problem-solving to close gaps before they become material issues. Your work will directly influence how external partners perceive Everlaw's reliability and rigor. You will balance strategic oversight with meticulous execution to keep the organization's compliance framework aligned with industry best practices.

What you'll do

Orchestrating audit readiness across FedRAMP, SOC 2, ISO 27001/27017/27018 by organizing evidence, maintaining documentation quality, and partnering with control owners to resolve gaps.

Owning end-to-end customer trust workflows and security questionnaires, researching technical answers, and synthesizing evidence into clear, customer-ready responses.

Conducting third-party security and vendor risk evaluations, assessing documentation, controls, and architecture against Everlaw standards alongside Procurement, Legal, and Security Engineering.

Maintaining and improving security training programs, ensuring content stays current, audit-ready, and aligned with FedRAMP and CJIS requirements.

Supporting governance workflows and public sector initiatives, including security impact analyses, change-related compliance reviews, and the ongoing operation of the Public Sector Clearance Program.

Coordinating intake activities that define scope, collect evidence, and align stakeholders so downstream work can proceed smoothly.

Driving build activities that translate controls and policies into practical configurations, tests, and documentation inside Everlaw platforms.

Executing review practices that validate outputs, confirm audit readiness, and refine customer materials before delivery.

Shipping compliance artifacts and customer responses that meet strict standards for clarity, accuracy, and timeliness.

Partnering with internal teams to ensure controls, assessments, and vendor evaluations remain consistent with Everlaw standards and evolving requirements.

Requirements

You hold 5+ years of experience as an individual contributor within a Governance, Risk, Compliance, and Trust team.

You possess strong working knowledge of customer trust operations, risk management, and the control evidence required to support audits such as SOC 2, FedRAMP, or ISO 27001.

You have led customer security questionnaire workflows and operated within GRC tools, trust portals, or evidence repositories.

You use operational metrics, dashboards, or workflow data to maintain SLAs and streamline compliance processes.

You independently research technical topics, navigate ambiguity, and produce concise, clear written deliverables for both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

You are authorized to work in the United States, and Everlaw currently does not sponsor U.S. employment visas for this role.

You demonstrate consistent judgment and discretion when handling sensitive information and confidential matters.

You communicate effectively under time constraints while maintaining a high standard of accuracy and completeness in your deliverables.
