Senior Planner
Job description
About the role
Everlane is seeking a Senior Planner to lead forecasting and purchasing activities for our full product assortment. In this role, you will act as a central hub for data, translating complex inputs into clear, actionable plans that connect multiple teams. Your work will ensure that our inventory remains efficient, our margins are protected, and our products move with precision. You will report directly to the Senior Director of Planning and be responsible for maintaining the highest level of accuracy in all purchasing decisions.
The position is based in our Los Angeles Creative Studio, operating on a hybrid schedule that requires presence in the office several days each week. Your day-to-day
You will develop comprehensive seasonal plans covering sales, margin, and inventory across channels, categories, styles, and colors. Using historical performance and market signals, you will project sales volumes for both existing and upcoming products to guide replenishment and new launch buys. You will be responsible for enhancing current inventory models to improve forecast accuracy and overall inventory turnover, ensuring that stock levels align with demand.
Collaboration with the merchandising team will be central to your work, as you recommend style counts and coverage strategies to optimize assortment fit. You will manage in-season open-to-buy forecasts for both sales and inventory, consistently tracking performance against financial goals and key performance indicators. Purchase orders will be built by you at the SKU level, requiring meticulous precision and rigorous attention to detail. You will work closely with production and logistics partners to confirm optimal inventory flows from sourcing to delivery.
Beyond execution, you will perform a variety of analyses designed to uncover business trends and new opportunities. You will build tools and dashboards that streamline buying workflows, standardize reporting, and improve visibility for stakeholders. Your insights will help the planning team stay agile and responsive to shifts in the market.
What you'll need
To succeed here, you must bring four or more years of experience in merchandise planning, allocation, finance, or business analytics. A solid understanding of inventory planning concepts and theory is required, along with strong analytical, financial modeling, and problem-solving skills.
You must have a clear understanding of product dynamics and trend behavior within the retail environment. The ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities and new processes is essential, as is a demonstrated attention to detail. Your background should show that you care deeply about retail, minimalist design, and the opportunity to disrupt a long-standing industry.
