About the role
You will own the end-to-end digital design and optimization of key customer journeys on Everlane's ecommerce platform, partnering closely with cross-functional teams to turn business goals and customer insights into high-fidelity, conversion-focused solutions. You will combine rigorous visual and interaction design with a data-driven mindset, using research, experimentation, and analytics to uncover opportunities and iteratively improve the site experience. Your work will directly support Everlane's mission of clean luxury and accessible ethical basics by shaping the touchpoints that millions of customers use to discover and purchase products. You will define complex flows, prototype solutions, and validate designs through testing while contributing to a cohesive and scalable design system. This role requires fast iteration, clear communication, and a commitment to continuous learning in a collaborative, high-growth environment. You will be responsible for translating quantitative signals and qualitative feedback into actionable design decisions that balance brand integrity with measurable business outcomes.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Design and optimize core digital experiences across Everlane's ecommerce website, including Homepage, Collection Pages, Product Detail Pages, and other high-impact customer touchpoints.
- Identify opportunities to improve conversion, engagement, and customer experience by synthesizing design principles, analytics, and direct customer insights.
- Ideate, design, and support the execution of A/B tests and other experimentation initiatives focused on improving conversion and influencing customer behavior.
- Develop data-backed hypotheses and translate analytics into clear, actionable design and optimization recommendations for the ecommerce journey.
- Analyze customer behavior and funnel performance to pinpoint friction points and prioritize opportunities across the end-to-end ecommerce flow.
- Partner with ecommerce, product, engineering, data, and marketing teams to prioritize, scope, and execute CRO initiatives aligned with business objectives.
- Design and prototype new experiences, features, and site components, emphasizing usability, accessibility, and conversion best practices.
- Define complex, end-to-end UX flows for a variety of touchpoints, user scenarios, and device contexts to ensure consistency and clarity.
- Conduct and leverage quantitative and qualitative research, including behavioral analytics, usability testing, and direct customer feedback.
- Use experimentation results and performance data to iterate on designs and inform future experiences, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Run usability testing to validate design concepts, test assumptions, and uncover customer pain points before full implementation.
- Help build and evolve Everlane's design system, ensuring designs support both brand expression and scalable, business-driven objectives.
- Contribute to a culture of continuous testing, learning, and optimization by sharing insights and learnings with cross-functional partners.
- Collaborate within a multidisciplinary environment to align design, content, and product strategies for cohesive customer experiences.
- Maintain a strong attention to detail and quality bar, ensuring pixel-perfect execution and consistent design language across all digital channels.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in a design discipline, including but not limited to Interaction Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Information Architecture, UI/UX, or Graphic Design.
- 3-5 years of experience designing digital products or ecommerce experiences, with a demonstrated portfolio of live projects.
- Strong understanding of UX/UI principles and the ability to apply design thinking to solve complex customer problems.
- Demonstrated experience in designing, launching, and iterating on digital products in fast-paced, agile environments.
- Proficiency with design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, or similar industry-standard platforms.
- Solid grasp of front-end fundamentals including HTML, CSS, and responsive design principles to effectively collaborate with engineering.
- Experience with analytics and data interpretation, using metrics to drive design decisions and measure impact.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present design rationale and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Comfort working in a hybrid, fast-moving startup environment where priorities may shift quickly and ownership is essential.

- Willingness to engage in ongoing learning and skill development to keep pace with evolving design and CRO methodologies.

Nice to have
- Previous experience in conversion rate optimization, experimentation, and A/B testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with ecommerce platforms, tag management systems, and analytics tools such as Google Analytics.
- Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and design system implementation.
- Experience conducting moderated and unmoderated usability studies and synthesizing findings into design decisions.
- Knowledge of sustainable and ethical product practices and how they intersect with digital experiences.
