About the role
At Euclid, you will own the execution of complex solar resource and energy yield assessments that directly inform the financial and technical viability of utility-scale and distributed photovoltaic projects. You will be responsible for transforming raw meteorological and satellite data into defensible, bankable energy yield estimates using industry-leading tools and methodologies. This role requires you to act as both a technical specialist and a client-facing partner, ensuring that every analysis meets the highest standards of accuracy and clarity. You will lead portions of the company's assessment methodologies and contribute to their evolution, driving consistency and innovation across the team. Additionally, you will manage full client engagements, performing technical reviews and quality control to ensure all deliverables align with internal standards and best practices. You will also play a key role in supporting business development by contributing to proposals, client meetings, and technical presentations. What you'll do
- Perform comprehensive solar resource and energy yield assessments for utility-scale and distributed PV projects, ensuring alignment with project goals and risk profiles.
- Conduct in-depth pre-construction and operational energy yield analyses, compiling and validating meteorological, satellite-derived, and operational datasets to inform robust modeling.
- Develop Typical Meteorological Year (TMY) datasets from long-term meteorological and satellite-derived data, applying rigorous statistical techniques to represent site-specific conditions.
- Execute Measure-Correlate-Predict (MCP) analyses and long-term resource adjustments, integrating multiple data sources to reduce uncertainty and improve confidence.
- Evaluate project-specific risks, constraints, and performance drivers, identifying factors that could impact energy output or financial returns.
- Estimate plant losses due to soiling, shading, inverter efficiency, wiring, and other factors, quantifying their impact on overall yield.
- Conduct uncertainty analyses to assess the range of potential outcomes, providing stakeholders with a clear understanding of data confidence and model limitations.
- Develop bankable energy yield estimates using PVsyst and other industry-standard tools, ensuring outputs are suitable for financing and regulatory review.
- Perform operational performance assessments and regression-based energy analyses to compare actual plant performance against expected yields.
- Take ownership of specific components of the company's solar resource and energy yield assessment methodologies, contributing to their refinement and optimization over time.
- Present and explain energy assessment methodologies, assumptions, results, and uncertainties to clients and investors, translating technical details into actionable insights.
- Manage and lead client engagements from a technical perspective, overseeing execution, timelines, and communication to ensure alignment with expectations.
- Conduct technical reviews and quality control of analyses and reports, verifying compliance with company standards and industry best practices before delivery.
- Collaborate closely with colleagues across due diligence, engineering, and project development teams to deliver high-quality, integrated work products.
- Support business development efforts through proposal writing, client meetings, conference participation, and technical presentations that showcase Euclid's expertise.
- Stay current with evolving industry developments and emerging practices related to solar resource assessment and energy yield analysis, applying new knowledge to improve project outcomes.
Requirements
- Bring a minimum of 5 years of professional experience in solar resource assessment, energy yield assessment, performance engineering, project development, technical advisory, or a closely related field.
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Atmospheric Science, Physics, Meteorology, Applied Mathematics, Renewable Energy, or another relevant technical discipline.
- Demonstrate a strong understanding of solar resource assessment methodologies and the principles underlying solar energy production estimation for photovoltaic projects.
- Show hands-on experience using PVsyst and other industry-standard solar modeling tools to develop accurate and reliable energy yield models.
- Have a proven track record of performing Measure-Correlate-Predict analyses, long-term resource assessments, and statistical evaluation of meteorological datasets.
- Be proficient in using solar resource datasets and platforms such as Solargis, SolarAnywhere, Meteonorm, NSRDB, MERRA-2, ERA5, or similar data sources.
- Possess a deep understanding of plant losses, uncertainty analysis, degradation assumptions, and the key drivers of operational performance in solar projects.
- Have experience preparing detailed technical reports and presenting complex technical findings to both clients and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Exhibit strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration and clear articulation of technical concepts.
- Demonstrate the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while working effectively within a collaborative team environment.

- Gain experience supporting project finance, lender's technical advisory, independent engineering, mergers and acquisitions, or due diligence engagements, contributing technical insights to critical decision points.
