In this capacity, you will own the integrity of our product measurement frameworks and ensure that data drives our roadmap. You will serve as the bridge between raw information and actionable strategy for the entire organization. What you'll do
Establish measurement standards and instrumentation protocols across product teams to ensure consistency and accuracy.
Work with Product Managers to define success metrics, set up event tracking, and evaluate A/B test results for continuous improvement.
Perform exploratory research on large datasets to identify opportunities in pricing, fraud detection, and risk management.
Act as the primary subject matter expert for product data, providing rapid answers to stakeholders and clarifying ambiguous requirements.
Present data findings and strategic recommendations to senior leadership in a clear and compelling manner.
Represent user needs in product development through data-backed advocacy to ensure customer-centric outcomes.
Design and maintain dashboards that provide real-time visibility into key performance indicators for product health.
Collaborate with engineering teams to troubleshoot data discrepancies and improve the reliability of analytics pipelines.
Analyze user journey maps to identify drop-off points and propose experiments that enhance conversion and retention.
Contribute to the development of predictive models that support underwriting and customer segmentation initiatives.
Champion best practices in data governance and documentation to facilitate scalability and knowledge sharing.
Conduct cohort and retention analysis to assess the long-term value of different user segments.
Partner with finance and operations to align product performance data with broader business objectives.
Lead post-mortem analyses on product launches to extract insights and guide future decision-making processes.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional experience in data science, product management, or data analysis.
- Advanced proficiency in SQL for managing complex, large-scale datasets with optimized query performance.
- Experience with A/B testing frameworks and experimentation methodologies to drive product validation.
- Working knowledge of statistical methods such as logistic and linear regression, chain ladder methods, and confidence intervals.
- Ability to script and automate tasks using Python or R to improve efficiency and reduce manual effort.
- Understanding of how operational data from CRM or ERP systems impacts product analytics and decision accuracy.
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to convey technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders effectively.
- A proactive mindset with the initiative to identify problems and propose data-driven solutions.
- Familiarity with insurance or financial services domain knowledge is considered a strong foundation for this role.
- Willingness to mentor junior analysts and contribute to the growth of the data culture within the organization.
- Commitment to maintaining data privacy and adhering to regulatory standards in all analytical practices.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and deliver high-quality results with minimal supervision.
Nice to have
Experience using visualization tools like Mode, Snowflake, or Tableau to present insights to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and modern data stack components.
Background in building and maintaining scalable data models or metrics dictionaries.
Exposure to machine learning techniques applied to risk assessment or customer behavior.
Knowledge of life insurance product structures and underwriting workflows.
