What you'll do

• Lead the planning and execution of heavy civil projects, including infrastructure, transportation, and environmental projects, ensuring adherence to project timelines and budgets.
• Develop comprehensive project plans, including scope, schedules, and resource allocation, to guide project execution and monitor progress.
• Coordinate with engineers, architects, and other professionals to ensure design specifications are met and project goals are achieved.
• Manage project budgets, track expenses, and prepare financial reports to ensure fiscal responsibility and profitability.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor construction progress, assess quality control, and address any issues that arise in a timely manner.
• Facilitate communication among project stakeholders, including clients, subcontractors, and team members, to ensure alignment and resolve conflicts.
• Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and industry standards, promoting a culture of safety on the job site.
• Prepare and present project updates and reports to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting milestones, challenges, and solutions.
• Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers, ensuring favorable terms and conditions for the company.
• Mentor and guide junior project staff, fostering professional development and enhancing team performance.
• Implement best practices in project management methodologies to optimize efficiency and effectiveness across projects.
• Utilize project management software and tools to track progress, manage documentation, and facilitate collaboration among team members.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in project management within the heavy civil construction sector.
• Proven track record of successfully managing large-scale civil engineering projects from inception to completion.
• Strong understanding of construction processes, methodologies, and industry standards.
• Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to motivate and manage diverse teams.
• Proficient in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project, Primavera, or similar applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
• Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively convey information to stakeholders at all levels.
• Knowledge of safety regulations and best practices in the construction industry.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

• Familiarity with local, state, and federal regulations related to heavy civil projects.
