This Residential Relief - Developmental Disabilities role is centered on translating that mission into daily practice within a brain injury residential setting. You will own the delivery of high-quality, person-centered support, partnering with interdisciplinary teams to uphold the dignity, safety, and growth of each resident. Through consistent, compassionate action, you will guide residents through routines that build confidence and autonomy, champion respect for differences, and serve as a reliable, trusted presence during both ordinary days and challenging moments. What you'll do

Based on the responsibilities outlined in the role description, your day-to-day contributions will focus on the following core activities:

• Coordinate personalized routines that support residents with brain injuries in activities of daily living, including personal care, meals, and ambulation.
• Maintain a safe and orderly living environment by continuously monitoring spaces, equipment, and behaviors, and providing timely interventions to prevent risk.
• Facilitate community integration by arranging and accompanying residents to local resources, memberships, and personal relationships, using community resources creatively.
• Support medical and physical needs by assisting with appointments, medication routines (when certified), and health-related communications.
• Enable meaningful family and community ties by helping residents participate in activities, attend medical appointments, and maintain ongoing relationships.
• Implement individualized plans that reflect each resident's goals, preferences, and cultural background, ensuring person-centered care.
• Observe and document changes in resident status, sharing observations with supervisors and clinical staff promptly and accurately.
• Collaborate with coworkers across shifts and weekends to ensure consistent, high-quality care and a cohesive team approach.
• Promote resident choice and dignity in every interaction, honoring their voice and decision-making rights.
• Support skill building through structured routines that enhance independence and confidence over time.
• Assist with transportation needs by safely operating residence vehicles when required, including local travel within Braintree.
• Contribute to a positive team atmosphere by sharing feedback, participating in meetings, and supporting peers.
• Uphold Eliot policies, regulatory standards, and ethical practices in all aspects of the role, including confidentiality and emergency procedures.

Requirements

The position requires a specific combination of experience, credentials, and personal commitments to ensure success in this demanding and rewarding environment:

• Demonstrate experience working with adults who have cognitive, behavioral, or developmental challenges, which informs person-centered approaches.
• Present a valid Massachusetts driver's license that is current and in good standing, as driving is an essential function of the role.
• Maintain a personally owned vehicle that is insured, registered, and safe for operation to support transportation needs.
• Provide proof of eligibility to work in the United States as required by federal law.
• Pass a background check and reference verification consistent with organizational and regulatory standards to ensure a safe environment.
• Commit to reliable attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts, including evenings, weekends, and on-call periods, recognizing the varying schedules available.
• Follow all health and safety protocols, including infection control, emergency procedures, and confidentiality guidelines, to protect residents and staff.
• Communicate effectively with residents, families, colleagues, and supervisors in spoken and written formats, ensuring clarity and professionalism.
