About the role
This position is centered on building and executing social media strategies that increase brand visibility and consumer engagement for e.l.f. SKIN. The hired individual will own the day-to-day management of content output while simultaneously tracking performance metrics to ensure the digital presence remains competitive and trend-forward. They will act as the primary strategist for the skincare line's digital personality, ensuring every post aligns with the broader brand narrative. The role demands a proactive approach to monitoring industry shifts, new tools, and emerging cultural conversations to keep the brand relevant in a crowded market. Collaboration is a core function, requiring close partnership with internal departments to align social efforts with overarching company goals and product launches. The Manager will be responsible for drafting comprehensive social media briefs that serve as the blueprint for all campaign activity. They will produce regular reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to analyze effectiveness and inform future decisions. Ultimately, this hire will own the end-to-end social media workflow from concept to publication, supporting content production tasks like photo cropping and video editing to maintain a polished aesthetic.

What you'll do
- Design and execute social media plans tailored to specific platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, and Facebook.
- Establish and track key performance indicators to measure success across all channels and identify areas for optimization.

- Write engaging copy and manage the daily posting schedule for skincare content to maintain a consistent brand voice.
- Partner with internal departments including Brand, Ecommerce, Digital, Sales, Creative, and Innovation to align social efforts with broader company goals.
- Draft comprehensive social media briefs that outline campaign objectives, target audience, and content requirements.
- Produce regular reports on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis to analyze data and drive strategic improvements.
- Support content production tasks like photo cropping, image adjustments, and basic video editing to ensure high-quality output.
- Conduct competitive analysis to understand the digital landscape and identify opportunities for differentiation.
- Manage community engagement by responding to comments and messages in a timely and professional manner.
- Collaborate with the creative team to develop concepts that translate brand messaging into compelling social content.
- Utilize social listening tools to gather insights and inform content decisions that resonate with the target audience.
- Coordinate with the ecommerce team to ensure social campaigns support sales objectives and conversion goals.
- Stay up to date with platform algorithm changes and best practices to maximize reach and engagement.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Marketing or a related discipline.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in social media marketing.
- Current residency in the Los Angeles area.
- Strong writing skills for social media captions that engage and convert.
- Ability to thrive in a high-speed work environment with a self-starting, hands-on mindset.
- Deep knowledge of social media algorithms and cultural trends to inform content strategy.
- Demonstrated experience managing multiple projects and meeting strict deadlines.
- Proficiency in using social media management platforms and analytics tools.

Practical notes
Total compensation includes base salary, equity, and an annual company performance bonus. The bonus program has historically allowed for up to 200% of the target payout based on company performance. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, a retirement savings plan, gender-neutral parental leave, and unlimited paid time off. The work environment is hybrid, requiring 3 days in the office and 2 days working from home. Employees also receive year-round half-day Fridays.
