What you'll do

• Lead the design and implementation of security solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of clients across various industries.
• Collaborate with product management and engineering teams to provide feedback on security features and enhancements, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
• Conduct security assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and recommend appropriate remediation strategies.
• Develop and deliver compelling presentations and demonstrations of Elastic's security solutions to stakeholders, including technical and non-technical audiences.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, guiding them through the complexities of security architecture and best practices.
• Stay abreast of the latest security trends, threats, and technologies to continuously enhance the security posture of our offerings.
• Mentor and train junior architects and engineers, fostering a culture of security awareness and best practices within the organization.
• Collaborate with sales teams to support pre-sales activities, including responding to RFPs and participating in customer meetings to discuss security strategies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including architecture diagrams, deployment guides, and best practice recommendations.
• Engage with the broader security community through conferences, webinars, and publications to promote Elastic's security solutions and gather insights on market trends.
• Work closely with compliance teams to ensure that our security solutions meet regulatory requirements and industry standards.
• Participate in incident response activities, providing expertise in security investigations and remediation efforts.

Requirements

• A minimum of 8 years of experience in security architecture, solutions design, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of security frameworks such as NIST, ISO 27001, and CIS Controls.
• Proven experience with security technologies, including SIEM, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and endpoint security solutions.
• Familiarity with cloud security principles and technologies, particularly in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to diverse audiences.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a focus on delivering practical solutions to security challenges.
• Experience working in a customer-facing role, demonstrating the ability to build strong relationships with clients.
• Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or AWS Certified Security - Specialty are highly desirable.
• A proactive approach to learning and staying updated on the latest security threats and technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with Elastic Stack, including Elasticsearch, Kibana, and Beats, is a plus.
• Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and tools, integrating security into the software development lifecycle.
• Familiarity with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go, or JavaScript.
• Experience in threat hunting and incident response methodologies.
• Previous experience in a consulting or advisory role within a security-focused organization.

Skills & tools

• Proficient in security assessment tools and methodologies, including vulnerability scanners and penetration testing tools.
• Strong understanding of network security principles and technologies, including firewalls, VPNs, and secure network architecture.
• Familiarity with identity and access management (IAM) solutions and practices.
• Knowledge of data protection regulations such as GDPR and CCPA.
• Experience with automation tools and frameworks to enhance security operations.
