About the role
You will partner directly with customers to translate their unique application requirements into efficient embedded computing solutions that fully leverage Efficient's hardware capabilities. You will design and implement board-level systems and firmware integrations that showcase the energy efficiency of our processors in demanding real-world scenarios. This role requires you to act as a trusted technical advisor, guiding customers through the integration of Efficient technology into their products and long-term roadmaps. You will own the development of reference designs and technical demos that serve as the foundation for customer proof-of-concept work. The position involves close collaboration with internal architecture, hardware, and software teams to iterate on solutions and resolve complex integration challenges. You will gather detailed field feedback and translate it into actionable insights that influence future product features and platform enhancements. Success in this role means enabling customers to deploy persistent, pervasive intelligence on battery-powered devices with unprecedented energy efficiency. You will be a key enabler of Efficient Computer's mission to drive the next major computing revolution through practical, customer-facing implementations.

What you'll do
- Partner with customers to deeply understand their applications, system constraints, and technical requirements.
- Design and implement board-level and embedded solutions tailored to specific customer use cases and workflow needs.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for customers, helping them integrate Efficient hardware into their products and development pipelines.
- Develop and optimize software and firmware across multiple embedded platforms to maximize performance and efficiency.
- Work across the full embedded stack, including board design, firmware implementation, and application software integration.
- Collaborate with internal architecture, hardware, and software teams to refine customer-facing solutions and accelerate deployment.
- Own the creation of reference designs, demos, and technical collateral that demonstrate Efficient's technology in realistic scenarios.
- Support customers throughout the entire development lifecycle, from initial concept and prototyping to final deployment and validation.
- Provide detailed feedback from the field to guide product improvements, feature prioritization, and platform evolution.
- Implement low-level firmware optimizations that take full advantage of Efficient's processor architecture.
- Diagnose and resolve complex hardware and software integration issues in customer environments.
- Present technical demonstrations and insights to diverse audiences, including engineers, executives, and technical decision-makers.
- Document solutions, workflows, and integration steps to build a reusable knowledge base for customers and internal teams.
- Represent Efficient Computer in customer engagements, ensuring alignment with company standards and strategic goals.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.
- Bring 3+ years of professional experience in embedded systems development, with a strong background in both software and firmware.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience with multiple embedded platforms and development environments.
- Show a strong understanding of board design principles and embedded system integration techniques.
- Maintain a proven track record in application engineering or customer-facing technical roles.
- Communicate complex technical concepts clearly and effectively to audiences with varying levels of expertise.
- Willingly travel to customer sites, Efficient offices, and industry events, as needed, up to 30% or more of your time.
- Be eligible for certain assignments that may require U.S. citizenship due to customer or regulatory requirements.
