What you'll do

• Design and implement scalable PHP applications that support our e-commerce platform, ensuring high performance and responsiveness.
• Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server-side logic, creating seamless user experiences.
• Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code while adhering to best practices and coding standards.
• Troubleshoot and debug applications, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime and improve user satisfaction.
• Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers and ensuring code quality across the team.
• Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Stay updated on emerging technologies and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance our development processes and tools.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of our development practices, including testing, deployment, and documentation.
• Mentor junior developers, sharing your expertise and helping them grow their skills in PHP development.
• Assist in the integration of third-party APIs and services to expand the functionality of our applications.
• Collaborate with the QA team to ensure thorough testing of applications before deployment.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies, including sprint planning and retrospectives, to foster a collaborative team environment.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a PHP developer, with a strong portfolio of web applications developed using PHP frameworks.
• Solid understanding of object-oriented programming (OOP) principles and design patterns.
• Familiarity with front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and experience with frameworks like Vue.js or React is a plus.
• Experience with relational databases, particularly MySQL, and proficiency in writing complex SQL queries.
• Knowledge of version control systems, preferably Git, and experience with collaborative development workflows.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
• A degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• A passion for coding and a desire to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

Nice to have

• Experience with e-commerce platforms or payment gateways is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with cloud services such as AWS or Azure, and experience with containerization technologies like Docker.
• Knowledge of PHP frameworks such as Laravel or Symfony, and experience in building RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of web security best practices and experience implementing secure coding techniques.
• Previous experience working in an Agile development environment.
