Vice President, Finance

About the role

Druva is seeking a Vice President of Finance to lead the company's financial strategy and operations from its Santa Clara, California office. This senior leadership position carries broad responsibility for overseeing financial planning, reporting, and analysis across the entire organization. The VP Finance works in close partnership with the executive leadership team to drive sustainable business growth and ensure sound financial stewardship at every level. This role holds significant influence over the company's financial direction, capital allocation decisions, and long-term operational performance.

What you'll do

1. Lead the development and execution of the company's annual financial plan and long-term strategic financial roadmap.

2. Manage the finance team including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis for all business units and departments.

3. Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial close processes to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely reporting to leadership.

4. Partner with the executive leadership team to evaluate new business opportunities, assess financial risks, and support strategic decision-making.

5. Direct cash flow management and working capital optimization initiatives across the organization to maintain financial health.

1. Prepare and present comprehensive financial performance reports to the board of directors and other senior stakeholders.

7. Establish and maintain internal controls and financial policies to ensure full regulatory compliance and audit readiness.

8. Lead fundraising and investor relations activities including financial due diligence, pitch preparation, and ongoing investor communications.

9. Drive cost management initiatives and identify opportunities for operational efficiency improvements across all finance functions.

10. Mentor and develop finance team members to build a high-performing department capable of scaling with the company.

11. Collaborate with human resources and people operations to design compensation structures and equity plans for employees.

12. Monitor industry financial trends and competitive benchmarks to inform strategic recommendations to the executive team.

Requirements

1. A Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a closely related field is a firm requirement.

2. A minimum of ten years of progressive finance leadership experience in senior roles is expected.

3. Prior experience serving in a Vice President or C-suite finance role at a growth-stage technology company is necessary.

4. Demonstrated expertise in financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting within technology or SaaS organizations.

5. Strong working knowledge of GAAP accounting principles, financial reporting standards, and regulatory compliance requirements.

6. Experience managing and developing teams of five or more finance professionals across multiple disciplines.

7. A proven track record of leading successful fundraising rounds and maintaining productive investor relationships over time.

8. Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear business insights.

1. An MBA or advanced degree from a top-tier business school is highly valued for this position.

2. Prior experience with public company financial reporting, SOX compliance, or navigating IPO processes is a strong benefit.

3. Familiarity with the data protection, cloud infrastructure, or enterprise software industry is a significant advantage.

4. Background in international finance operations spanning multiple geographies, currencies, and diverse regulatory environments is preferred.

5. Experience implementing and scaling financial systems and processes as the organization grows from startup to enterprise.

Skills & tools

1. Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and scenario analysis for corporate planning purposes.

2. Expertise in enterprise financial planning and analysis software platforms used for budgeting and reporting.

3. Strong command of Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and financial reporting systems for data visualization.

4. Hands-on experience with ERP systems such as NetSuite, SAP, or equivalent enterprise resource planning tools.

5. Familiarity with investor management tools, board reporting platforms, and capital markets communication systems.

6. Deep understanding of SaaS financial metrics including ARR, MRR, customer acquisition cost, and lifetime value.
