Druva is seeking a Senior Staff Software Engineer to join our team in Pune, Maharashtra, India. In this role, you will be responsible for leading the design and development of innovative solutions that enhance our data protection and management offerings. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that our products meet the highest standards of quality and performance. This position requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to drive projects from conception to completion.

Key facts

What you'll do

• Lead the architecture and design of scalable software solutions that improve data protection and recovery processes for our customers.
• Collaborate with product management and other engineering teams to define product requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and knowledge sharing within the team.
• Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to best practices in software development, including coding standards and testing methodologies.
• Identify and resolve performance bottlenecks in existing systems, implementing optimizations as necessary.
• Participate in the full software development lifecycle, including planning, development, testing, and deployment of new features and enhancements.
• Design and implement APIs and services that support our cloud-based data management solutions.
• Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies, evaluating their potential impact on our products and services.
• Collaborate with DevOps teams to ensure smooth deployment and operation of applications in cloud environments.
• Assist in troubleshooting and debugging complex issues, providing technical support to customers as needed.
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation and training materials for both internal teams and customers.
• Engage in regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates on project progress and gather feedback for improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• A minimum of 8 years of experience in software development, with a focus on cloud-based applications and services.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, Python, or Go, with a strong understanding of object-oriented design principles.
• Extensive experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS and Azure, including services such as EC2, S3, RDS, and Azure SQL.
• Solid understanding of database technologies, including relational databases like Microsoft SQL and Oracle, as well as NoSQL solutions.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes.
• Experience with Agile development methodologies and tools, promoting a collaborative and iterative approach to software development.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Nice to have

• Experience in data protection and recovery solutions, particularly in the context of enterprise environments.
• Knowledge of microservices architecture and design patterns.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automated testing frameworks.
• Previous experience in a leadership or mentoring role within a software development team.
