What you'll do
- Engage in hands-on software development to gain insights into various money flow mechanisms within the organization.
- Collaborate closely with both internal business units and technology teams to ensure alignment and effectiveness in project execution.
- Design and architect new systems tailored for the Cash & Liquidity Management team, focusing on scalability and performance.
- Maintain and enhance existing systems to ensure they meet evolving business needs and technical standards.
- Integrate with third-party banking-as-a-service APIs to streamline operations and improve service delivery.
- Develop a comprehensive understanding of the banking industry's money movement workflows, aiming to automate manual processes for efficiency.
- Participate in code reviews to uphold high standards of code quality and share best practices with team members.
- Implement automated testing, logging, monitoring, and alerting to ensure system reliability and performance.
- Contribute to the documentation of systems and processes to facilitate knowledge sharing and onboarding of new team members.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies to continuously improve the team's capabilities and offerings.
- Foster a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging innovative solutions to complex problems.
Requirements
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in backend software development, utilizing Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) and Functional programming principles in languages such as Java, Kotlin, or Scala.
- Proven experience in designing and integrating RESTful APIs to facilitate communication between systems.
- Familiarity with several technologies, including but not limited to Spring Boot, OpenAPI, message queuing frameworks (such as AMQ, Kinesis, SQS, Kafka), distributed caching solutions (like Redis), and databases such as DynamoDB or Postgres.
- Active involvement in a cloud-based microservices environment, with hands-on experience in platforms like AWS, Google Cloud, or Azure.
- Proficient in using Git and GitHub, including knowledge of gitflow and git actions for version control and collaboration.
- A strong commitment to writing high-quality code, focusing on eliminating redundancy and avoiding awkward workarounds.
- A disciplined approach to writing well-structured code and actively participating in code reviews to enhance team performance.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks, as well as logging, monitoring, and alerting tools to ensure system robustness.
- A solid understanding of software systems architecture, including the trade-offs involved in design decisions and collaborative development.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
