About the role
Join the Core Trade engineering team to build high-performance, low-latency trading systems. This role involves developing tools to support global investing, focusing on clear, reusable, and simplified application architecture. You will be a key contributor, scaling a critical trading stack with modern technologies and autonomous workflows.

What you'll do
- Lead the technical design, architecture, and delivery of complex features for both React/TypeScript front-end and Java back-end systems.
- Champion architectural best practices to ensure solutions are secure, scalable, and resilient.
- Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conduct code reviews, and raise the team's technical standards.
- Drive the adoption of AI-assisted development tools for faster coding, testing, and documentation, establishing secure integration standards.
- Create workflows that combine automated decision-making and high-throughput data processing with human validation for trade desks and operational teams.
- Collaborate with stakeholders like Trade Desks, Quants, and Product Managers to translate business goals into technical execution.
- Set ambitious, measurable technical goals for projects and work with leadership to achieve broader organizational objectives.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software development experience with expertise in TypeScript, modern JavaScript (ES8+), Java (60% backend / 40% frontend), React, WebSockets, or similar technologies for real-time data streaming, and Browser API standards.
- Demonstrated ability to design, build, and maintain highly available architectures at scale.
- Familiarity with modern AI coding assistants and a proven track record of using them to enhance developer productivity securely.
- Strong understanding of and commitment to rigorous testing standards, including unit testing (React Testing Library) and E2E testing (Playwright, Cypress).
- Excellent verbal and technical writing skills, capable of explaining complex architectural concepts to both engineers and business stakeholders.
- Detail-oriented and results-driven with strong analytical abilities and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

- This is a hybrid role requiring regular office presence in New York, NY.
