DriveWealth is actively searching for a Principal Software Development Engineer to act as a technical cornerstone for our evolving digital assets initiatives. In this capacity, you will own the design and execution of critical backend services that power our digital asset platform. Your work will directly influence the reliability and performance of transaction systems, blockchain connectivity, and wallet services in a high-throughput financial setting. You will partner closely with cross-functional teams to translate business requirements into robust, scalable technical solutions. This position demands a strong sense of ownership over the full lifecycle of complex software components. You will be responsible for ensuring that security, compliance, and operational excellence are embedded in the systems you build. What you'll do
- Design and maintain core services for the DriveWealth Web3 Platform, ensuring architectural consistency and scalability.
- Build secure, fault-tolerant distributed systems that facilitate asset movement and wallet operations with high reliability.
- Create API-first integrations that connect blockchain networks with financial systems, enabling seamless data and value flow.
- Implement event-driven patterns using Kafka to support asynchronous communication and system decoupling.
- Manage end-to-end transaction orchestration, reconciliation, and settlement workflows to maintain data integrity.
- Apply zero-trust architecture principles, cryptographic signatures, and robust key management practices to secure system boundaries.
- Improve observability across services by leveraging OpenTelemetry, structured logging, and centralized metrics collection.
- Produce clear technical documentation and maintain CI/CD testing frameworks to support continuous delivery and quality assurance.
- Provide L2/L3 production support, performing root cause analysis and driving remediation for critical incidents.
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define service level objectives and ensure alignment with business goals.
- Optimize system performance and resilience under high concurrency and strict regulatory requirements.
- Contribute to code reviews, design discussions, and technical decision-making to uphold software excellence.
- Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on best practices, architecture, and problem-solving techniques.
- Stay current with industry trends in blockchain, digital assets, and distributed systems to drive innovation.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience in regulated financial sectors, demonstrating a track record of responsible technical decision-making.
- Proficiency in TypeScript, Java, JavaScript, Spring Boot, Node.js, and NestJS for building scalable and maintainable services.
- Experience building Web3 platforms, blockchain-integrated applications, or wallet infrastructure in production environments.
- Expertise with Web3.js, Ethers.js, WebJ, and various blockchain SDKs to interact with distributed networks effectively.
- Background in high-throughput, concurrent, and asynchronous distributed systems capable of handling demanding workloads.
- Deep knowledge of microservices architecture, REST APIs, and well-defined service contracts to ensure interoperability.
- Experience with Apache Kafka and event streaming patterns to enable real-time data processing and system integration.
- Familiarity with DevSecOps practices, secure SDLC, and AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and security.
- Ability to write comprehensive architecture specifications, runbooks, and engineering standards for documentation and governance.
- Strong understanding of networking, protocols, and system-level interactions in distributed environments.
- Experience with monitoring, alerting, and incident response to maintain high availability and service health.
- Commitment to writing clean, testable, and maintainable code that adheres to industry best practices.
- Willingness to collaborate with security, compliance, and operations teams to address cross-functional challenges.
- Openness to continuous learning and adapting to new technologies within the fast-paced digital asset space.

- Knowledge of tokenization, stablecoins, and digital asset custody concepts relevant to financial applications.

Practical notes
