Senior QA Engineer, Digital Assets
Job description
About the role
DriveWealth is on a mission to make investing easier. We believe that everyone should have the ability to control their financial future, and that access to financial markets should not be limited by geography, wealth, or legacy systems. We are a global B2B financial technology organization dedicated to democratizing access to financial independence around the world. Our mission is realized through an API-based platform, empowering our partners to offer seamless investing and trading experiences to clients worldwide, all from their mobile devices. Our technology provides partners with a modern, extensible toolkit, enabling traditional investment workflows and innovative techniques like fractional share ownership. DriveWealth has evolved into a global platform offering trading of US equities, mutual funds, ETFs, fixed income, and options.
There's never been a better time to build a category-defining business and there has rarely been a team better positioned for this opportunity. Our culture blends the pace and agility of a fintech start-up with the impact, stability, and discipline of Wall Street. We encourage creativity and experimentation while ensuring institutional-grade execution and regulatory compliance in everything we do. Join us and help build the future of global investing.
As a Senior QA Engineer on the Digital Assets team, you will own end-to-end quality for DriveWealth's cryptocurrency and digital assets product suite. You will design, build, and maintain automated test frameworks that validate trading workflows, custodial integrations, blockchain settlement, and regulatory compliance across our crypto infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with backend engineers, DevOps, product, and compliance teams to ship reliable, auditable, and regulation-ready software.
What you'll do
Design and implement comprehensive test strategies for digital asset trading workflows including order lifecycle, settlement, custody, and reconciliation.
Build and maintain automated API/backend test suites using Java 21, Cucumber BDD, Rest-Assured, and Maven within CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions).
Validate integrations with third-party crypto custodians and infrastructure providers (Fireblocks, BitGo, Coinbase Prime, Circle) including key management, transaction signing, and webhook callbacks.
Develop Kafka-based event validation frameworks to verify end-to-end message flows across microservices for trade execution, ledger updates, and compliance events.
Perform regulatory compliance testing covering AML/KYC transaction monitoring, Travel Rule, SAR filing triggers, and OFAC/sanctions screening for digital asset transactions.
Build and maintain environment-specific test configurations spanning Dev, UAT, and production-like environments on AWS.
Contribute to Allure TestOps dashboards and reporting to provide real-time visibility into regression health and release readiness.
Partner with DevOps to integrate test execution into deployment pipelines and establish quality gates for release promotion.
Participate in incident triage and root cause analysis for production issues, developing targeted regression tests to prevent recurrence.
Mentor junior QA engineers and drive adoption of testing best practices across the Digital Assets engineering group.
Requirements
10+ years of experience in test automation engineering with a focus on API and backend testing.
5+ years of experience working with Java-based test frameworks and writing clean, maintainable code in object-oriented paradigms.
3+ years of experience with BDD frameworks such as Cucumber and Gherkin, including step definition design and scenario outline management.
3+ years of experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and GitHub Actions.
2+ years of experience validating financial services or fintech APIs, with a strong understanding of HTTP protocols, JSON schemas, and secure authentication mechanisms.
2+ years of experience working with messaging systems such as Apache Kafka, including consumer group validation and message ordering verification.
Experience with digital asset custody solutions, blockchain settlement flows, or crypto trading infrastructure is strongly preferred.
Solid understanding of regulatory compliance concepts such as AML/KYC, transaction monitoring, and the OFAC sanctions list.
Strong command of SQL for writing complex queries to validate data consistency across databases and ledger systems.
Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and explain technical test results to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
Experience with infrastructure providers like Fireblocks, BitGo, Coinbase Prime, and Circle, including their API integrations and key management workflows.
Experience building and maintaining Allure TestOps dashboards or similar reporting frameworks for test observability.
Experience contributing to open-source testing frameworks or libraries relevant to API and messaging validation.
