Bamboohr is seeking a dedicated Fraud Operations Specialist to join our dynamic team in Yerevan, Armenia. This role is crucial for maintaining the integrity of our operations by identifying and mitigating fraudulent activities. As a Fraud Operations Specialist, you will work closely with various departments to ensure that our systems and processes are against fraud attempts. You will be instrumental in developing strategies to detect suspicious behavior and implementing preventive measures to protect our customers and the company.

What you'll do

• Analyze transaction data to identify patterns and anomalies indicative of fraudulent activity, ensuring timely detection and response.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, compliance, and customer service, to enhance fraud prevention strategies and improve operational efficiency.
• Develop and maintain fraud detection models and algorithms to continuously improve the accuracy of fraud identification.
• Monitor and investigate alerts generated by fraud detection systems, conducting thorough reviews and providing detailed reports on findings.
• Engage with external partners and stakeholders to share insights and best practices related to fraud prevention and detection.
• Create and implement training programs for staff on fraud awareness and prevention techniques, fostering a culture of vigilance within the organization.
• Stay updated on industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging fraud tactics to adapt strategies accordingly.
• Prepare and present regular reports to management on fraud trends, incidents, and the effectiveness of current prevention measures.
• Assist in the development and refinement of policies and procedures related to fraud risk management.
• Participate in audits and assessments to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.

• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing inquiries and concerns related to potential fraud incidents, ensuring a positive experience for our clients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in fraud operations, risk management, or a similar role within the financial services or technology sector.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data sets and draw actionable insights.
• Proficiency in using fraud detection software and data analysis tools, such as SQL, Excel, or similar platforms.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
• Detail-oriented mindset with a strong commitment to accuracy and thoroughness in all tasks.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple priorities effectively.

Nice to have

• Experience with machine learning algorithms and their application in fraud detection.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards related to fraud prevention.
• Knowledge of the online gaming or fintech industries, particularly in relation to fraud risks.
• Certification in fraud prevention or risk management (e.g., CFE, CRISC) is a plus.
• Multilingual capabilities, particularly in English and Armenian, are advantageous.
