What you'll do
- Monitor security alerts and incidents using advanced security information and event management (SIEM) tools to detect potential threats in real-time.
- Conduct thorough investigations of security breaches and incidents, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions to mitigate risks.
- Collaborate with IT and development teams to ensure security measures are integrated into all stages of system development and deployment.
- Develop and implement security policies, protocols, and procedures to enhance the organization's security posture.
- Perform regular security assessments and vulnerability scans to identify weaknesses in systems and applications, providing actionable remediation plans.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the latest security trends, threats, and technology solutions to proactively address potential vulnerabilities.
- Assist in the preparation and execution of security awareness training for employees, fostering a culture of security within the organization.
- Participate in incident response planning and execution, ensuring that the organization is prepared to respond effectively to security incidents.
- Generate detailed reports on security incidents, vulnerabilities, and compliance status for management review, ensuring transparency and accountability.
- Collaborate with external partners and vendors to enhance the organization's security capabilities and ensure compliance with relevant regulations.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives to refine security operations processes and enhance overall effectiveness.
- Act as a point of contact for security-related inquiries from internal teams and external stakeholders, providing expert guidance and support.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in information security operations or a related role, with a proven track record of managing security incidents.
- Strong understanding of security frameworks and standards such as ISO 27001, NIST, or CIS.
- Proficiency in using security tools such as SIEM, intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS), and vulnerability management solutions.
- Experience with incident response methodologies and the ability to handle security incidents effectively.
- Familiarity with network security concepts, firewalls, VPNs, and encryption technologies.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to convey complex security concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Nice to have
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CEH, or CompTIA Security+ are highly desirable.
- Experience with cloud security practices and tools, particularly in AWS or Azure environments.
- Knowledge of programming or scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation of security tasks.
- Familiarity with compliance regulations such as GDPR, PCI-DSS, or HIPAA.
