Your primary responsibilities will include active monitoring for threats, managing incidents, and overseeing vulnerabilities. What you'll do
- Conduct continuous monitoring for potential threats and perform vulnerability assessments to identify weaknesses in our systems.
- Oversee the workflows related to security monitoring and incident response, ensuring timely and effective action is taken during security events.
- Collaborate with various teams to develop and implement operational resilience strategies across different regional and platform environments.
- Work closely with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), infrastructure, and engineering teams to bolster our overall security posture.
- Enhance and refine security operations processes to improve the resilience of our systems against emerging threats.
- Participate in incident response drills and tabletop exercises to ensure preparedness for real-world scenarios.
- Generate detailed reports on security incidents and vulnerabilities, providing insights for future improvements.
- Stay updated on the latest security trends and threats, integrating new knowledge into our operational strategies.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Engineering, or a closely related discipline is essential.
- At least three years of relevant experience in a Security Operations Center (SOC), incident response, or managing threats and vulnerabilities.
- Familiarity with security tools such as Security Information and Event Management (SIEM), Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR), Intrusion Detection/Prevention Systems (IDS/IPS), and cloud security solutions.
- A solid understanding of cloud environments, particularly AWS or Google Cloud Platform (GCP), along with enterprise infrastructure.
- Knowledge of established security frameworks, including NIST, CIS Controls, MITRE ATT&CK, or ISO 27001, is required.
- Proven ability to manage complex tasks within a dynamic, cross-functional team environment.
Nice to have
- Professional certifications such as Security+, CySA+, GSEC, SC-200, or Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH) would be advantageous.
- Experience with container security practices or DevSecOps methodologies is a plus.
- Proficiency in scripting languages like Python, Bash, or PowerShell to automate security tasks.
- Familiarity with Security Orchestration, Automation, and Response (SOAR) platforms, threat intelligence, or security automation tools.
- A background in disaster recovery, crisis management, or governance related to operational resilience would be beneficial.
- An interest in leveraging AI technologies to enhance security operations is desirable.
Skills & tools
The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of security tools and frameworks, including SIEM, EDR, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, AWS, GCP, as well as scripting languages like Python, Bash, and PowerShell. Familiarity with security standards such as NIST, CIS, MITRE ATT&CK, and ISO 27001, as well as SOAR platforms, will be critical for success in this role.
