What you'll do
- Lead and mentor a team of designers, fostering a collaborative and creative environment that encourages innovation and professional growth.
- Develop and implement design strategies that align with Data4's business objectives and enhance the user experience across all platforms.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that design concepts are effectively translated into functional products.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to gather insights and feedback, using this data to inform design decisions and improve overall user satisfaction.
- Create and maintain design guidelines, ensuring consistency and quality across all design outputs.
- Oversee the design process from concept to completion, managing timelines and resources effectively to meet project deadlines.
- Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in design, integrating relevant insights into the team's workflow.
- Present design concepts and proposals to stakeholders, articulating the rationale behind design choices and how they meet user needs and business goals.
- Collaborate with marketing teams to ensure that branding and design elements are cohesive and effectively represent Data4's identity.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and delegating responsibilities to ensure efficiency and productivity within the team.
- Foster a culture of feedback and continuous improvement, encouraging team members to share ideas and learn from one another.
- Participate in recruitment efforts to attract top design talent, contributing to the growth and development of the design team.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Design, Fine Arts, or a related field; a Master's degree is a plus.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in design, with at least 2 years in a managerial or leadership role.
- Proven experience in user-centered design principles and methodologies, with a strong portfolio showcasing your design work.
- Proficiency in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Sketch, Figma, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of web and mobile design standards, as well as responsive design principles.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas clearly and persuasively to diverse audiences.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret user data and feedback to inform design decisions.
- Experience in managing design projects and teams, with a track record of delivering high-quality work on time and within budget.
Nice to have
- Familiarity with front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
- Experience in working within an Agile development environment.
- Knowledge of accessibility standards and best practices in design.
- Previous experience in the tech or software industry.
