What you'll do

• Lead the accounting department in daily operations, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with local regulations and international standards.
• Prepare and oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, ensuring compliance with all relevant accounting principles.
• Manage the budgeting process, working closely with department heads to develop forecasts and monitor financial performance against budgets.
• Conduct regular audits of financial processes and controls to identify areas for improvement and ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
• Supervise and mentor a team of accountants, providing guidance and support to enhance their professional development and performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights that support strategic decision-making and business planning.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing of invoices and collections.
• Manage relationships with external auditors and tax advisors, ensuring that all financial practices are compliant with legal requirements.
• Implement and maintain accounting software and systems to streamline financial operations and improve reporting capabilities.
• Prepare tax returns and ensure compliance with tax regulations, optimizing tax liabilities where possible.
• Analyze financial data to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
• Prepare ad-hoc financial reports and analyses as requested by senior management to support business initiatives.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; a Master's degree or professional certification (e.g., CPA, CMA) is preferred.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and practices, as well as financial reporting standards (IFRS, GAAP).
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) and Microsoft Excel; experience with data analytics tools is a plus.
• Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
• Strong leadership and team management abilities, with a proven track record of developing and mentoring staff.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to present complex financial information clearly to non-financial stakeholders.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to identifying and addressing financial issues.

Nice to have

• Experience in the technology or data management sector is advantageous.
• Familiarity with international accounting standards and practices, especially in a multinational environment.
• Knowledge of tax regulations and compliance requirements in Italy and the EU.
• Experience with financial forecasting and modeling techniques.
• Proficiency in additional languages is a plus, particularly English.
