About the role
Anysphere is on a mission to transform how software gets written by automating the coding process. The company builds AI-powered tools designed specifically for working programmers, combining research, design, and engineering in a compact, high-caliber team. This position places you as the primary technical representative for Anysphere, engaging directly with healthcare and SLED organizations to help them assess and adopt Cursor. You will guide enterprise prospects through evaluation periods, demonstrate the platform's capabilities, and ensure they understand how AI-assisted development fits into their engineering operations.
Key facts
What you'll do
- Partner with Account Executives to run technical discovery meetings, product demonstrations, and proof-of-concept trials with prospective customers.
- Cultivate lasting relationships with engineering managers, system architects, and software developers, acting as their go-to technical consultant.
- Convert customer needs into detailed solution plans, advising teams on deployment approaches, prompt engineering techniques, and context setup.
- Create and present technical talks, interactive whiteboard exercises, and practical workshops that address each customer's unique situation.
- Serve as the internal voice for customer concerns, shaping product roadmap decisions and raising critical input to Product and Engineering teams.
- Coordinate with post-sales professionals to guarantee a smooth transition from evaluation to full deployment and effective onboarding.
- Keep current on Cursor's full feature set and the competitive market, ensuring the platform's strengths are communicated clearly.
- Contribute to long-term account strategies by providing technical validation that supports expansion and upselling opportunities.
- Identify technical gaps in customer environments and propose Cursor-based solutions that address specific workflow challenges.
- Document engagement outcomes and customer feedback to inform internal teams about real-world usage patterns and feature requests.
Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with technical and executive audiences, whether pair-programming with engineers or briefing chief technology officers.
- Thorough familiarity with how software teams build and ship products, including modern organizational structures and developer efficiency obstacles.
- Practical hands-on technical skills, with comfort navigating AI-powered development tools, debugging multi-layered environments, and understanding codebases.
- A genuine focus on customer success, with the talent for reframing technical concepts into meaningful business outcomes.
- Prior experience in a technical pre-sales capacity such as Field Engineering, Solutions Architecture, Consulting, or similar enterprise software roles.
- A mindset suited to fast-moving startup culture, showing resourcefulness, flexibility, and self-directed problem-solving.
- Ability to travel occasionally for on-site customer visits and in-person demonstrations when required by the engagement.
- Strong judgment in handling confidential customer information and maintaining trust across sensitive enterprise relationships.
Nice to have
- Background in healthcare IT, government technology, or education sector engineering teams, with awareness of their unique compliance and procurement needs.
- Hands-on experience with AI code generation platforms or large language model integrations in production development environments.
- Familiarity with enterprise procurement processes and the ability to navigate multi-stakeholder buying committees within public sector organizations.
- Prior involvement in developer advocacy, developer relations, or technical community building that demonstrates thought leadership in the software tools space.
Skills & tools
- Proficiency with Cursor and its AI-assisted coding features, including code completion, chat-based assistance, and context-aware suggestions.
- Understanding of modern software development workflows, including version control, CI/CD pipelines, and collaborative coding practices.
- Experience with enterprise sales support tools and customer relationship management platforms for tracking engagement progress.
- Capability with technical presentation software and collaborative whiteboarding tools for remote and in-person workshops.
- Knowledge of prompt engineering principles and best practices for configuring AI tools in professional development settings.
- Familiarity with cloud-based development environments and remote collaboration platforms used by distributed engineering teams.
