About the role
You will join CUBE's new AI lab in Berlin as a Frontend Engineer, taking ownership of architecting and maintaining intuitive web applications that power AI Agent experiences within our enterprise system. This position grants significant influence over UI/UX and product decisions while operating within a small, agile team that moves quickly. You will collaborate closely with product managers and researchers to translate complex agentic workflows into coherent, user-friendly interfaces. The role requires you to balance enterprise constraints with innovative frontend solutions that enhance how humans interact with AI. You will be responsible for ensuring the frontend aligns with the broader technical vision of the AI lab. This includes making pragmatic trade-offs to deliver robust features on schedule without sacrificing long-term maintainability. You will act as a bridge between cutting-edge AI capabilities and the practical needs of enterprise users. Your work will directly impact how internal and external stakeholders perceive the power and usability of our agentic products.

What you'll do
Architect and develop new features for AI Agent interfaces using React and TypeScript, ensuring high performance and a seamless user experience.
Implement and maintain core layout components and design systems using Mantine to guarantee consistency across all products within the enterprise ecosystem.
Integrate frontend modules with backend REST APIs, managing data flow and state with Jotai to create responsive and reliable interactions.
Write and maintain comprehensive end-to-end tests using Playwright to validate critical user journeys and prevent regressions in production.
Leverage Claude Code as a primary tool for rapid prototyping, code review assistance, and maintaining a high standard of code quality.
Utilize GitHub to manage pull requests, conduct thorough code reviews, and collaborate effectively with other engineers in a distributed workflow.
Investigate and resolve complex UI bugs that span the interaction layer between the agent logic and the human-facing interface.
Contribute to the definition of product requirements by providing frontend insights on feasibility and user interaction patterns.
Champion best practices for accessibility and internationalization to ensure our products are usable by a diverse global audience.
Optimize application bundle sizes and runtime performance to deliver fast, smooth experiences even on constrained network conditions.
Document frontend architecture and component APIs to enable new team members to onboard quickly and contribute effectively.
Participate in on-call rotations to address critical production incidents and ensure the reliability of our AI-driven web applications.
Requirements
You must have hands-on experience building B2B SaaS or AI workflow products, demonstrating an understanding of the unique challenges these domains present.
You must possess professional experience using TypeScript, enforcing strict typing across your components to prevent runtime errors and improve developer experience.
You must be proficient in React, including hooks, state management patterns, and component lifecycle considerations specific to modern SPAs.
You must have a working knowledge of Jotai for state management, enabling you to handle complex data flows within enterprise applications.
You must be experienced with Mantine, using its component library to build responsive and accessible user interfaces efficiently.
You must have expertise in writing tests and debugging with Playwright, ensuring that user interactions behave as expected across different environments.
You must be comfortable working with REST APIs, handling authentication, data serialization, and error states in a client-side application.
You must have domain experience in FinTech, RegTech, Finance, Regulatory, or Compliance environments, understanding the regulatory nuances involved.
You must be an AI-native engineer who incorporates tools like Claude Code into your daily engineering workflow to augment your productivity.
You must be based in Berlin or be willing to relocate there to ensure close collaboration with the lab team.
You must have the right to work in Germany without sponsorship, as we are unable to sponsor visas for this position at this time.
Nice to have
Experience contributing to open-source projects or publishing reusable packages through package managers.
Familiarity with Web Components or micro-frontends for integrating frontend modules into larger systems.
