Application Engineer

About the role

You will design, develop, and maintain scalable backend services using .NET / C# while ensuring high availability and performance standards. You will build and maintain modern frontend applications using Angular, TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and SCSS to deliver intuitive user experiences. You will design, build, and maintain cloud-native applications and services in Azure, optimizing for security and reliability. You will manage containerized deployments using Docker, Kubernetes, and Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) with a focus on operational stability. You will implement and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps to automate testing and deployment workflows. You will write clean, maintainable, testable, and high-performance code that aligns with enterprise architecture guidelines. You will develop unit tests and ensure strong test coverage across applications to support quality assurance objectives. You will investigate and troubleshoot complex production issues across application, infrastructure, and network layers in a timely manner. You will collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, Product, and Architecture teams to deliver reliable and scalable solutions that meet business needs. You will mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the team by sharing knowledge and best practices.

• Write clean, maintainable, testable, and high-performance code that adheres to established coding standards and guidelines.
• Develop unit tests and ensure strong test coverage across applications to validate functionality and prevent regressions.
• Investigate and troubleshoot complex production issues across application, infrastructure, and network layers to minimize downtime.
• Collaborate closely with QA, DevOps, Product, and Architecture teams to coordinate on solution design and delivery milestones.
• Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and continuous improvement of engineering best practices across the team.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to the technical growth of the team through guidance and constructive feedback.
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to translate regulatory requirements into technical specifications and implementation plans.
• Monitor application performance in production environments and identify opportunities for optimization and enhancement.
• Contribute to the evolution of product features and services that drive customer value and support business objectives.

Requirements

• 2+ years of professional experience in software engineering or similar senior development roles with a strong track record of delivery.
• Strong hands-on experience with .NET / C#, Angular and SQL server to build robust and scalable solutions.
• Strong experience in Angular and frontend application development including state management and component design.
• Strong understanding of HTML, CSS, and SCSS to implement accessible and maintainable user interfaces.
• Strong experience working with Azure cloud services including compute, storage, and networking fundamentals.
• Hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and AKS to manage containerized workloads in production.
• Experience with Azure DevOps and CI/CD pipeline implementation to automate build, test, and deployment processes.
• Strong understanding of distributed systems architecture and scalable system design principles and patterns.
• Excellent debugging, performance tuning, and problem-solving skills to resolve high-impact technical issues.
• Deep knowledge of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, sessions, cookies, headers, authentication flows, proxies, and browser behavior.
• Strong understanding of website rendering, DOM structure, JavaScript execution, and page lifecycle to optimize user experience.
• Strong networking knowledge including DNS, SSL/TLS, caching, load balancing, reverse proxies, and traffic flow in cloud environments.

Nice to have

• Exposure to performance monitoring, logging, tracing, and production diagnostics in distributed environments (Newrelic) to proactively identify bottlenecks.
