Position Overview

The Senior Project Manager provides leadership and strategic direction for a portfolio of complex electrical construction projects. This individual reports to the Director of Project Management and serves as the technical and operational leader for assigned projects. The role requires developing high-performing teams, building trusted customer relationships, and driving execution with sound judgment and disciplined planning. The goal is to establish a standard for project execution while developing future project leaders within the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Project Execution: Provide clear leadership and direction to Project Managers and support staff. Oversee all aspects of project delivery to ensure safety, schedule adherence, budget compliance, and adherence to Beta Engineering quality standards. Coordinate staffing and resources to meet project demands while optimizing team performance. Identify and mitigate risks early, making data-driven decisions to remove barriers and ensure successful project completion.
• Drive Operational and Financial Performance: Assume ownership of the operational and financial performance of an assigned project portfolio. Lead and support Project Managers who are accountable for day-to-day execution. Ensure all deliverables meet a high standard of quality through disciplined processes and a commitment to continuous improvement. Apply technical expertise and sound judgment to resolve complex operational and customer challenges. Drive accountability for safety, quality, productivity, and profitability.
• Build Strategic Customer Relationships: Serve as the senior customer contact for each project throughout its lifecycle. Build trusted partnerships by offering technical expertise, responsive communication, and reliable execution. Proactively resolve customer issues to maintain long-term relationships. Support business development efforts, including proposal development, customer presentations, and project pursuits.
• Develop Leaders and Strengthen Teams: Lead, coach, and develop Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, and Project Assistants. Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and retain high-performing project professionals. Establish clear expectations, promote accountability, and develop future project leaders. Foster a culture grounded in ownership, technical excellence, continuous learning, and operational discipline.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field is preferred.
• A minimum of 10 years of experience in high-voltage electrical construction or a related industrial sector, with a proven track record of managing complex projects.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technically complex projects and high-performing project teams.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions in complex environments.
• Proficiency with industry-standard software, including scheduling tools, document management, and office productivity platforms.
