About the role
The Assistant Director of Human Resources Operations at Crest Operations acts as a strategic partner in advancing the human resources function and ensuring operational excellence. This role owns the oversight of critical HR operational areas including Compliance, Benefits, Compensation, Payroll, and HR Systems, driving initiatives that enhance efficiency and regulatory adherence. You will be responsible for executing HR strategies in partnership with leadership to support the company's growth trajectory and evolving needs. A core part of this position involves leading day-to-day operations while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement. The Assistant Director will manage key projects that require cross-functional coordination and influence across the organization. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to deliver high-quality HR services, maintain strict compliance, and support employee engagement. You will work closely with the Director of HR Operations to translate business objectives into tangible HR programs and processes. What you'll do
Coordinate and oversee the end-to-end operations of Compensation, Benefits, Payroll, and HR Systems to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.
Develop and implement HR policies, procedures, and best practices in alignment with company objectives and regulatory requirements.
Partner with HR leadership and Legal teams to ensure strict compliance with federal, state, and local regulations including ADA, FLSA, FMLA, and ACA.
Analyze compensation data and conduct market benchmarking reviews to support competitive and equitable reward strategies.
Manage vendor relationships for benefits programs such as health, retirement, and disability insurance, ensuring seamless service delivery.
Lead the administration of annual benefits open enrollment, communicating key details and supporting employee queries effectively.
Monitor regulatory changes and spearhead the implementation of necessary updates to HR policies, practices, and employee communications.
Supervise and develop team members within HR Operations, providing guidance, feedback, and professional growth opportunities.
Serve as a key liaison between HR Operations and business units to align HR initiatives with organizational goals and drive adoption.
Provide detailed reporting, analytics, and insights to support data-driven decision-making at various levels of the organization.
Streamline workflows and improve user experience for HR systems and payroll processes in collaboration with HR and IT stakeholders.
Lead cross-functional HR projects and enterprise-wide initiatives, ensuring timely execution and alignment with strategic priorities.
Evaluate the effectiveness of HR programs and recommend enhancements to ensure alignment with business goals and budget guidelines.
Act as a subject matter expert in interpreting and applying employment laws and HR best practices across the organization.
Requirements
Possess a Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field as a foundational requirement for this role.
Bring 3-7 years of progressive experience in HR operations, with demonstrated exposure to compensation, benefits, compliance, or HR systems.
Show a strong working knowledge of employment laws and established HR best practices to guide decision-making and compliance efforts.
Have hands-on experience supporting or leading HR projects and initiatives from conception through execution.
Exhibit robust analytical and problem-solving skills, with proven proficiency in Excel to support data analysis and reporting.
Demonstrate experience with HRIS systems and payroll processes to effectively manage and optimize HR operations.
Display the ability to coach, collaborate, and influence peers and stakeholders across diverse teams and levels.
Maintain strong organizational skills with the capacity to manage multiple priorities, deadlines, and competing demands efficiently.
