What you'll do
- Develop and implement logistics strategies that align with Cortina's operational goals and customer requirements.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of logistics processes across various departments.
- Analyze logistics data to identify trends, inefficiencies, and areas for improvement, providing actionable insights to management.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and components necessary for production.
- Oversee inventory management, ensuring optimal stock levels are maintained to meet production schedules without excess waste.
- Prepare and maintain documentation related to logistics operations, including shipping manifests, inventory reports, and compliance records.
- Conduct regular audits of logistics processes to ensure adherence to company policies and industry regulations.
- Provide training and support to team members on logistics best practices and software tools used in the operations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for logistics-related inquiries from internal teams and external partners.
- Monitor and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to logistics efficiency and effectiveness.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing logistics operations and reducing costs.
- Ensure that all logistics activities comply with safety and environmental regulations, promoting a culture of safety within the organization.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in logistics support or supply chain management, preferably in a manufacturing or engineering environment.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed decisions.
- Proficient in logistics software and tools, including inventory management systems and ERP platforms.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
- Knowledge of logistics regulations and compliance requirements, including import/export laws and safety standards.
Nice to have
- Experience with project management methodologies and tools.
- Familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma principles for process improvement.
- Previous experience in a leadership or supervisory role within logistics or supply chain operations.
- Certification in logistics or supply chain management (e.g., APICS, CLTD) is a plus.
