What you'll do

• Assist in the monitoring and analysis of security alerts and incidents to identify potential threats to the organization's information systems.
• Participate in the development and implementation of security policies, protocols, and procedures to safeguard sensitive data.
• Help maintain and update the organization's IT infrastructure, including hardware and software installations.
• Support the IT team in troubleshooting technical issues and providing assistance to end-users.
• Conduct regular vulnerability assessments and penetration testing to identify weaknesses in systems and applications.
• Collaborate with team members to develop training materials and resources aimed at promoting cybersecurity awareness among staff.
• Document IT processes, procedures, and incident reports to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Engage in research to stay current with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies, sharing findings with the team.
• Assist in the configuration and management of firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and other security tools.
• Participate in team meetings and brainstorming sessions to contribute innovative ideas for improving IT security.
• Support the preparation of reports and presentations for management regarding security incidents and IT performance metrics.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or a related field.
• Familiarity with cybersecurity principles, practices, and tools, including firewalls, antivirus software, and intrusion detection systems.
• Basic understanding of networking concepts and protocols, such as TCP/IP, DNS, and VPNs.
• Proficiency in using operating systems, particularly Windows and Linux, as well as common productivity software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically about security challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with team members and stakeholders.
• Ability to manage time effectively and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• A proactive attitude towards learning and professional development in the field of IT and cybersecurity.

Nice to have

• Previous internship or work experience in IT support, cybersecurity, or a related area.
• Familiarity with programming languages such as Python, Java, or C++.
