About the role
You will own the end to end employee lifecycle for all India based staff ensuring a consistent and high quality experience from day one through departure. You will act as the primary HR and office operations hub for India handling day to day employee relations and people queries with empathy and speed. You will partner with US HR leadership to adapt policies to Indian labor law while preserving a unified Coram culture across regions. This role requires you to build and maintain robust processes for people operations where none currently exist and to drive execution against complex administrative requirements. You will manage performance review cycles support managers through coaching and documentation and handle PIPs and exits with professionalism and care. You will ensure strict compliance with Indian employment regulations and labor welfare statutes protecting the company and employees. You will also own the full office lifecycle including facilities vendors maintenance and workplace experience to create a safe and welcoming environment. This position is ideal for a resourceful hands on operator who thrives in ambiguity and can independently set up and run a growing office.

What you'll do
Own the full employee lifecycle in India covering onboarding documentation performance support and offboarding activities.
Serve as the primary HR point of contact for India based employees handling day to day people queries and employee relations matters promptly.
Partner with US HR leadership to ensure consistency in company policies while adapting for Indian labor law and local norms.
Manage performance review cycles support managers with coaching and documentation and handle PIPs and exits professionally.
Ensure compliance with Indian employment laws including Shops & Establishment Act PF ESI gratuity and other applicable regulations.
Maintain accurate employee records and manage HRIS data for the India team with attention to data integrity and confidentiality.
Manage all aspects of India office operations including facilities supplies vendors maintenance and workplace experience.
Own vendor relationships for cleaning security internet catering and equipment and negotiate contracts to optimize service and cost.
Coordinate office logistics for events team gatherings and visiting US based team members to enable collaboration and culture.
Manage office budgets and track expenses partnering with Finance on cost reporting and variance analysis.
Handle asset management for laptops equipment procurement inventory tracking and lifecycle management.
Ensure the office is a productive well maintained and welcoming environment that supports focus and collaboration.
Partner with our payroll provider or PEO to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for India based employees.
Own statutory compliance for PF ESI professional tax gratuity labor welfare fund and related filings with strict adherence.
Manage benefits administration including health insurance leave policies and any India specific perks and communicate clearly to employees.
Coordinate with external legal counsel on employment contracts NDAs and any labor related matters to mitigate legal risk.
Support audit and compliance requirements as the India team scales including internal controls and documentation.
Champion Coram's culture in the India office bridging the US and India teams so it feels like one company.
Plan and execute engagement initiatives such as team events celebrations and wellness programs to drive retention and satisfaction.
Own internal communications for the India office in partnership with US leadership ensuring timely transparent messaging.
Support recruiting coordination for India roles including interview scheduling offer letters and candidate experience to attract top talent.
Requirements
3 to 8 years of experience in People Ops HR or Office Administration with at least 2 years in a management or standalone HR role.
Bachelor's degree is required; an MBA or postgraduate diploma in HR is preferred.
Strong working knowledge of Indian labor and employment law including PF ESI Shops & Establishment gratuity and other applicable regulations.
Hands on experience managing office administration and vendor operations across multiple service providers.
Experience with employee relations performance management and end to end employee lifecycle management.
Comfortable working across time zones with US based leadership with some overlap with US Pacific hours expected.
Strong judgment discretion and ability to handle sensitive situations professionally in a high trust environment.
Resilient in challenging and fast paced environments with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
Ability to work onsite in Bangalore on a full time basis for this role.
