Senior Full-Stack Engineer

About the role

You will own the entire lifecycle of features within Conveo's AI research platform, translating ambiguous customer needs into robust technical solutions from initial specification through deployment. You will architect and build applications where AI is embedded as the core technology, ensuring seamless integration rather than treating it as a superficial add-on. This role requires you to stay at the bleeding edge of AI capabilities so that we can continuously expand what is possible for our research platform. You will act as a critical bridge between our clients and our engineering team, conducting direct interviews to capture requirements and de-risk assumptions. Because we operate with a small, high-performance team, you must be comfortable making autonomous decisions and taking full ownership of your work. You will actively contribute to product strategy, challenging assumptions and shaping both the vision and the implementation details of what we build.

What you'll do

Design and develop end-to-end features for Conveo's AI video interviewing platform, ensuring technical feasibility and alignment with client research objectives.

Collaborate directly with enterprise clients like Unilever, Google, and Orange to translate their complex research challenges into technical specifications.

Architect scalable backend services using TypeScript and Node.js, focusing on API design, PostgreSQL optimization, and robust background job management.

Implement reliable media pipelines that handle video ingestion, processing, and storage using cloud infrastructure on AWS and GCP.

Integrate advanced AI capabilities such as prompt engineering and LLM API orchestration to enhance the platform's research quality and efficiency.

Independently lead projects from initial discovery through to production deployment, taking responsibility for scope, timelines, and quality.

Write clean, testable code and participate in code reviews to maintain the extremely high quality bar expected by the team.

Work synchronously with our small, flat organization to ensure there are no blockers between engineering and the clients we serve.

Experiment with and evaluate new AI tools and frameworks to determine how they can provide tangible value to our research workflows.

Champion best practices in security, performance, and reliability for every feature you ship to global brands.

Contribute to the refinement of product requirements during brainstorming sessions, influencing both the direction and the execution of the product.

Maintain a deep curiosity for the market research domain, ensuring that technical solutions genuinely solve the problems of speed, cost, and insight depth.

Requirements

You must possess a minimum of 6 years of professional experience building full-stack applications using TypeScript and Node.js in production environments.

You have a strong background in designing RESTful and GraphQL APIs, managing relational databases like PostgreSQL, and orchestrating complex asynchronous workflows.

You are proficient in frontend development with React, and you have hands-on experience with routing solutions such as React Router v7 or Remix.

You have practical experience deploying and managing applications in cloud environments, specifically AWS and/or GCP, including services like S3 and media processing pipelines.

You have built AI-driven applications before, with demonstrable experience in prompt engineering, integrating LLM APIs, or fine-tuning models.

You are capable of independently owning projects from initial concept and scoping all the way through to a successful launch without needing constant direction.

You communicate with exceptional clarity in English, both in writing and verbally, with a meticulous attention to detail in documentation and code.

You thrive in a collaborative setting where you must work autonomously within a small, fast-paced, and high-energy team.

Nice to have

Experience working with video processing and media pipelines is a significant advantage for this role.

Familiarity with the market research industry and specific qualitative tools is a bonus.

Practical notes

We require 3 days a week in the office.

This role is based in either London or Antwerp.

Regular socials include rooftop drinks, team dinners, run clubs, and more.

Twice-yearly off-sites are planned to locations such as Austria, Las Vegas, and Portugal.
