Conveo is a YC-backed company in an active growth period and this Senior Frontend Product Engineer role is central to that momentum. The hire owns the complete user journey for the AI research platform, turning vague customer needs into reliable and delightful interfaces shipped in production. You will operate at the intersection of product discovery and engineering execution, owning the decisions that shape what the research teams can achieve with AI. This position requires a deep partnership with customers, where your work directly influences the direction of the product strategy. You will report to the CTO and be a core part of a small, highly autonomous engineering squad shaping the technical and product culture. Success in this role means building systems and interfaces that remove friction from high-stakes research workflows. Ultimately, you will ensure that the platform feels effortless to use while handling complex AI-powered research tasks.

What you'll do

Translate ambiguous customer problems into concrete interface strategies and production-ready React applications.

Lead the frontend architecture for the AI research platform using React and TypeScript to ensure long-term scalability and performance.

Own the end-to-end shipping of features, connecting user needs through design collaboration to working software deployed in production.

Conduct and participate in customer interviews to gather qualitative insights and validate the direction of the product interface.

Implement AI-powered research workflows by integrating LLM APIs and prompt engineering patterns into a reliable user experience.

Collaborate closely with backend and infrastructure engineers to define contracts and ensure seamless data flow for research features.

Establish and enforce high standards for component design, state management, accessibility, and testability within the codebase.

Act as the engineering representative in customer discussions to ensure feedback is accurately translated into technical requirements.

Explore and evaluate new frontend tools and AI capabilities to keep the product at the forefront of research technology.

Drive the adoption of agentic AI patterns within the UI to automate parts of the research process for users.

Balance rapid experimentation with production stability, ensuring that new research features are robust enough for global brands.

Maintain a sharp focus on performance and user experience metrics to guide iterative improvements of the interface.

Document architectural decisions and patterns so the team can maintain velocity as the product and team scale.

Mentor junior engineers by providing guidance on best practices for React, TypeScript, and product thinking.

Requirements

6 or more years of professional experience building production frontend applications using TypeScript.

Expert-level proficiency with React, including component architecture, state management, and rendering performance.

Strong understanding of modern browser APIs, DOM manipulation, and responsive design principles.

Comfort working with REST and GraphQL APIs to connect frontend applications to backend services.

Experience building AI-driven user interfaces, including prompt engineering and integration with LLM APIs.

Proven ability to independently own projects from initial concept through launch and post-launch iteration.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with attention to clarity and detail in documentation.

A collaborative mindset that thrives in a small, fast-paced team without dedicated product managers or designers.

Nice to have

Experience with React Router v7 or Remix for advanced routing patterns.

Strong design sensibility, including interaction detail, motion, and polished user experiences.

Background in cloud infrastructure on AWS or GCP, including background jobs and managed services.

Experience working in a small SaaS company where you have handled client-facing responsibilities.

Familiarity with market research or qualitative research tooling and methodologies.

Hands-on experience shipping agentic AI systems to production, including evaluation frameworks and error handling.

Practical notes

The role is full-time based in London.

The team requests 3 days a week in the office to maintain effective collaboration.
