What you'll do

• Install, maintain, and troubleshoot electrical systems and equipment in mining facilities, ensuring optimal performance and safety.
• Conduct regular inspections and preventive maintenance on electrical systems to identify and resolve potential issues before they escalate.
• Collaborate with engineering teams to design and implement electrical systems that meet project specifications and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with SEC regulations and safety standards during all electrical work, minimizing risks to personnel and equipment.
• Respond promptly to electrical emergencies, diagnosing problems and implementing effective solutions to restore operations.
• Maintain accurate records of electrical work performed, including inspections, repairs, and maintenance activities.
• Train and mentor junior electricians and apprentices, sharing knowledge and best practices to enhance team capabilities.
• Participate in safety meetings and contribute to the development of safety protocols related to electrical work in mining environments.
• Work closely with other trades and departments to coordinate electrical installations and repairs, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
• Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and regulations to continuously improve skills and knowledge relevant to the role.
• Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including reports and compliance records, to support audits and inspections.
• Engage in continuous professional development through training programs and certifications relevant to electrical work in mining.

Requirements

• Valid SEC Clase A certification, demonstrating proficiency in electrical systems and safety protocols.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in electrical work, preferably within the mining or heavy industry sectors.
• Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and regulations applicable to mining operations.
• Proven experience in troubleshooting and repairing electrical systems and equipment in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends, as required by project demands.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and work in challenging environments, including confined spaces and at heights.

Nice to have

• Experience with automation and control systems in mining applications.
• Familiarity with renewable energy systems and their integration into mining operations.
• Additional certifications in safety, such as First Aid or CPR, are a plus.
• Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English to facilitate communication with diverse teams and stakeholders.

• Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and their application in mining operations.
