About the role
The Senior Regional Business Director - West Region owns the full commercial strategy and execution for Coherus Oncology products across the western region of the United States. This leader is accountable for achieving all regional sales objectives in a fully compliant and ethically sound manner while protecting patient safety and regulatory integrity. They build, develop, and lead a high-performing team of Oncology Account Managers with a strong emphasis on recruiting diverse talent and fostering an inclusive, high-engagement culture. A critical component of this role is elevating the team's clinical selling proficiency and precision in HCP targeting, ensuring that every interaction is highly relevant, data-driven, and tailored to patient needs. This individual will drive strategic execution across community oncology practices, academic centers, and integrated delivery networks, translating complex clinical data into meaningful, compliant customer interactions. They will optimize reach and impact across priority hematology and medical oncology segments, aligning field activities with the broader portfolio strategy. The role demands deep collaboration with cross-functional partners to translate market insights into actionable field plans that unlock sustainable growth.

What you'll do
Identify and assess oncology market trends, including emerging therapies, rare cancer opportunities, and evolving treatment paradigms.
Partner with the Executive Vice President of Sales to establish regional sales and profitability goals aligned with the broader oncology strategy.
Achieve or exceed regional performance objectives across a diverse oncology portfolio, including therapies for rare and specialized patient populations.
Lead and coach the team to achieve best-in-class clinical selling capabilities, ensuring deep understanding of oncology data, mechanisms of action, and treatment pathways.
Drive consistent execution of evidence-based, patient-centric conversations with healthcare professionals, including those managing rare cancers and complex cases.
Ensure the team can effectively translate clinical and health economic data into impactful, compliant value propositions for key stakeholders.
Establish and reinforce disciplined HCP targeting and segmentation strategies, focusing on high-opportunity providers, centers of excellence, and key decision-makers.
Leverage data and insights to refine call planning, territory alignment, and engagement strategies to maximize access and impact across priority accounts.
Guide Oncology Account Managers in prioritizing accounts based on clinical relevance, patient populations, including rare cancers, and access dynamics.
Lead the formation and execution of regional sales strategies grounded in data, clinical insight, and market opportunity.
Optimize the use of company resources, including cross-functional partners, patient support services, reimbursement tools, and executive engagement platforms.
Manage regional budgets and deploy financial and human capital resources to maximize return on investment and pipeline velocity.
Build and sustain a culture of performance, accountability, compliance, and inclusion within the field team and across stakeholder groups.
Coach, develop, and retain top oncology talent, with a focus on elevating both business outcomes and clinical acumen across the region.
Set clear expectations and performance standards tied to measurable outcomes and capability development, including clinical selling excellence and targeting precision.
Serve as the strategic voice for the region, synthesizing field feedback, market dynamics, and competitive intelligence to inform corporate decisions.
Requirements
Must possess a Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; advanced degrees in oncology, life sciences, or business are highly valued.
Must have a proven track record of success in oncology commercial roles, with demonstrated experience managing and scaling high-performing sales teams.
Must have extensive experience in oncology medical affairs, commercial, or field leadership within complex, data-driven environments.
Must demonstrate deep knowledge of oncology therapeutic areas, including rare cancers, and the ability to interpret clinical trial data and health economics.
Must have a strong history of ethical compliance and adherence to pharmaceutical industry regulations, including FDA and PhRMA guidelines.
Must excel in influencing and partnering with key stakeholders, including senior executives, KOLs, and cross-functional leaders.
Must possess exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear, actionable insights for diverse audiences.
Must be willing to travel extensively throughout the West Region, including overnight stays, to engage HCPs and support team activities.
Nice to have
Prior experience with specialty pharmacy and managed care partnerships in oncology is highly desirable.
Experience with digital tools and CRM platforms for territory management and insights generation is preferred.
Background in health economics and outcomes research within oncology adds significant value.
Practical notes
This role is field-based and requires frequent travel across the West Region, often including evenings and weekends to align with HCP schedules.
