What you'll do
- Collaborate with project managers and other engineers to develop project plans, schedules, and budgets, ensuring alignment with client expectations and company standards.
- Conduct thorough analysis and evaluation of project specifications, identifying potential challenges and proposing effective solutions.
- Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including project reports, design specifications, and compliance records, to ensure transparency and accountability throughout the project lifecycle.
- Facilitate communication between various stakeholders, including clients, contractors, and internal teams, to ensure that all parties are informed and engaged.
- Monitor project progress and performance, utilizing project management software to track milestones and deliverables, and provide regular updates to management.
- Assist in the procurement of materials and resources, negotiating contracts with suppliers to secure favorable terms and pricing.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to assess project status, ensuring that work is being completed according to specifications and safety regulations.
- Support the implementation of quality control measures, conducting tests and inspections to verify that engineering standards are met.
- Participate in project meetings, presenting findings and recommendations to stakeholders, and contributing to strategic planning discussions.
- Mentor and guide junior engineers and interns, fostering a collaborative team environment and promoting professional development.
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices, integrating new knowledge into project processes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
- Assist in the preparation of bids and proposals for new projects, showcasing Cmtsllc's capabilities and expertise to potential clients.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in project engineering or a similar role within the construction or engineering industry.
- Proficiency in project management software and tools, such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, project management methodologies, and construction processes.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment, demonstrating leadership and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with relevant codes, regulations, and safety standards in the engineering sector.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks and meeting deadlines.
Nice to have
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or the ability to obtain one within a specified timeframe.
- Experience with AutoCAD, Revit, or other engineering design software.
- Knowledge of sustainable engineering practices and green building standards.
- Previous experience in a client-facing role, with a track record of building strong client relationships.
- Familiarity with Lean construction principles and methodologies.
