We are seeking a full-time, tech-savvy Accounting Manager in Munich to establish internal financial and accounting processes and ensure proper bookkeeping. You will be focused on daily operational tasks as well as other exciting global projects. Please note that the position is in Munich, Germany and requires individual to relocate.
What you'll do
Establish and maintain comprehensive accounting policies and procedures tailored to the needs of a high-growth technology enterprise. Lead the consolidation of financial data from diverse subsidiaries, ensuring the accuracy and timeliness of month-end closing activities. Oversee the full cycle of accounts payable, including vendor onboarding, invoice processing, and payment execution with rigorous oversight. Manage the full cycle of accounts receivable, including billing coordination, receivables reconciliation, and cash application activities. Develop and implement sophisticated financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis initiatives. Coordinate with tax advisors to ensure compliance with local, national, and international tax regulations and reporting obligations. Monitor key financial metrics and prepare insightful dashboards to track performance against strategic objectives and budgets. Spearhead the implementation and optimization of financial systems and controls to mitigate risk and improve operational efficiency. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to analyze financial implications of business decisions and support strategic planning processes. Own the preparation of financial statements in accordance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at streamlining accounting workflows and enhancing data integrity. Provide expert guidance and training to junior accounting staff to ensure adherence to best practices and regulatory standards. Liaise with external auditors to facilitate smooth and efficient audit processes, addressing inquiries and providing necessary documentation. Champion the adoption of innovative technologies and methodologies to enhance the accuracy and speed of financial operations.
Requirements
Demonstrate a proven track record of at least seven years in accounting or finance roles, with increasing responsibility in a corporate environment. Possess a university degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related quantitative field from an accredited institution. Hold a professional accounting certification such as CPA, CA, or equivalent relevant to the German or European market. Showcase extensive expertise in International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and their application within a complex organizational structure. Bring substantial experience with enterprise-level accounting software and financial systems, particularly in a SaaS or technology context. Exhibit advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including the ability to build complex financial models and perform detailed variance analysis. Maintain a meticulous attention to detail and a strong commitment to accuracy in all financial transactions and reporting outputs. Communicate effectively in English, demonstrating the ability to articulate complex financial concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
