As a Senior Software Engineer on the Clear Street Frontend team, you will help architect and build the next generation of Clear Street Active, our high-performance trading platform tailored for active traders. The platform integrates real-time market data, low-latency execution workflows, and advanced trading tools into a performant, responsive web interface. You will collaborate with a cross-functional team on large-scale initiatives that deliver high-impact solutions and shape the future of our prime brokerage experience.

Engagement: Full-time

Compensation: The Base Salary Range for this role is $200,000 - $350,000. This range is representative of the starting base salaries for this role at Clear Street. Where a candidate falls in this range will be based on job related factors such as relevant experience, skills, and location. This range represents Base Salary only, which is just one element of Clear Street's total compensation. The range stated does not include other factors of total compensation such as bonuses or equity.

What you'll do

Architect and evolve Clear Street Active using TypeScript, React, Tanstack, and Tailwind to meet the rigorous demands of institutional trading.

Champion end-user experience by refining interaction flows, latency-sensitive workflows, and responsive behavior across complex trading interfaces.

Implement high-performance client-side architectures that handle real-time market data, low-latency execution, and advanced trading tool integrations.

Collaborate with product and finance stakeholders to translate complex requirements into robust frontend solutions that power prime brokerage workflows.

Design and maintain reusable component libraries and design systems that scale across teams and trading products.

Partner with cross-functional squads on large-scale initiatives that define the future of Clear Street's prime brokerage experience.

Instrument and analyze frontend performance, reliability, and user behavior to drive data-informed improvements in trading workflows.

Advocate for best practices in tooling, maintainability, and developer experience to accelerate feature delivery and reduce technical debt.

Partner with backend and platform teams to align data contracts, API schemas, and integration standards across the stack.

Guide code reviews, mentorship, and knowledge sharing to elevate the quality and consistency of the frontend codebase.

Requirements

You have at least 4 years of professional experience implementing web applications.

You possess 3+ years of experience working with modern web technologies, including demonstrated success at a Senior or higher Engineer level.

You demonstrate expertise in building and maintaining high-performance, scalable web applications using TypeScript, React, Tanstack, and Tailwind.

You prioritize end-user experience, and it shows in your API design, functionality, and performance.

You have a strong command of design patterns, data structures, and algorithms.

You thrive in a team-first environment and value collaboration with diverse stakeholders.

You take pride in the quality of your work and hold yourself to a high standard of excellence.

You are passionate about creating a best-in-class developer experience, with an eye for tooling, performance, and maintainability.
