About the role
Clay is seeking a Manager, Strategic Growth to join our Growth Strategy team, where you will own the strategy and execution for our largest enterprise customers. You will build and lead a team of Strategic Growth Strategists who act as trusted advisors, helping complex organizations unlock Clay's full potential as their growth engine. You will own the end-to-end strategy for key accounts, driving expansion, retention, and executive-level relationships that turn ambitious GTM goals into reality. This role requires deep customer obsession, comfort navigating enterprise complexity, and the ability to translate product possibilities into actionable growth pathways. You will personally own and guide 1-2 strategic accounts to build firsthand understanding and lead from the front. You will shape how influential companies use Clay to scale, owning the narrative behind revenue growth, retention, and executive engagement. You will foster a culture of experimentation and accountability where learning is shared rapidly across the team. What you'll do
- Hire, develop, and act as a strategic partner to both your team and Clay's largest customers.
- Build and scale a high-performing team of Strategic Growth Strategists who bring curiosity and customer obsession to their work.
- Build and refine the playbooks, frameworks, and processes that define what great looks like at the enterprise tier.
- Own 1-2 strategic accounts yourself at first, so you understand the customer base firsthand and can lead from the front.
- Drive expansion pipeline across Clay's largest and most strategic customers by discovering new growth pathways.
- Find multithreading opportunities, surface new use cases, and deepen the value of existing use cases within accounts.
- Guide your team as they build multi-year account strategies, navigate complex org structures, and drive expansion.
- Support the commercial process from opportunity identification through redlines and negotiation, partnering closely with Sales.
- Coach your team on the product itself, connecting GTM ideas to what is possible and surfacing patterns in product pain points.
- Partner with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing leadership to represent the voice of our largest customers.
- Influence roadmap and GTM strategy directly by synthesizing customer feedback and success patterns.
- Own forecasting, KPI tracking, and executive reporting on expansion and retention outcomes for strategic accounts.
- Build data-driven narratives that show how Clay is driving measurable value and where expansion potential exists.
- Develop and run enablement programs that equip strategists and customers to maximize Clay's value.
Requirements
- You have experience hiring, coaching, and developing high-performing teams in a customer-centric environment.
- You have a track record of building and scaling strategic account or enterprise customer success programs.
- You are comfortable operating at the intersection of product, sales, and customer strategy in a fast-growth environment.
- You have deep experience navigating complex organizational structures and influencing without direct authority.
- You have a history of owning and driving expansion revenue and retention metrics for strategic accounts.
- You are fluent in using data and qualitative insights to build narratives that guide executive decision-making.
- You have experience partnering with Sales, Product, Engineering, and Marketing to align on GTM strategy.
- You are highly comfortable with enterprise sales motions, redlines, and commercial negotiation support.
- You are based in or able to work from New York and are available for full-time employment.
