What you'll do
- Assess and process applications for various subsidy programs, ensuring that all necessary documentation is submitted and reviewed thoroughly.
- Conduct interviews with applicants to gather information and clarify details regarding their financial situations and eligibility for assistance.
- Maintain accurate records of all applications and communications, ensuring compliance with data protection regulations and organizational policies.
- Collaborate with other departments and community organizations to facilitate access to additional resources and support services for applicants.
- Provide clear and concise information to applicants regarding program guidelines, eligibility criteria, and application processes.
- Monitor and evaluate ongoing cases to ensure continued eligibility and compliance with subsidy requirements.
- Prepare reports and documentation for management, highlighting trends, challenges, and recommendations for program improvements.
- Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to stay current with changes in subsidy policies and best practices in case management.
- Address inquiries and concerns from applicants and stakeholders, providing exceptional customer service and support.
- Assist in the development and implementation of outreach initiatives to raise awareness of available subsidy programs within the community.
- Work collaboratively with team members to enhance service delivery and improve overall program effectiveness.
- Engage in regular team meetings to discuss case progress, share insights, and strategize on best practices for service delivery.
Requirements
- A minimum of two years of experience in social services, case management, or a related field, preferably within a government or non-profit organization.
- Strong understanding of financial assistance programs, eligibility criteria, and social service delivery systems.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
- Proficient in using computer software and databases for record-keeping and data management.
- Strong analytical skills, with the ability to evaluate complex information and make sound decisions based on established guidelines.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating initiative and problem-solving capabilities.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation and policies related to social services and financial assistance programs.
- Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple cases and priorities effectively.

- Experience working with marginalized communities or individuals facing barriers to accessing services.
- Familiarity with community resources and support services available in Hamilton.
- Bilingualism in English and French or another language relevant to the community served.
