About the role

Citech is seeking a skilled DBA with expertise in PostgreSQL and MongoDB to join our Data Management team in Aix-en-Provence. What you'll do

• Maintain operational readiness of database environments, ensuring they function smoothly and efficiently.
• Participate in new project implementations by contributing to architectural choices, installing various environments, and providing technical recommendations.
• Optimize database performance through parameter tuning and SQL query optimization.
• Address incidents and issues in both production and non-production environments, ensuring quick resolution to minimize downtime.
• Lead projects related to version upgrades, patches, migrations, and the deployment of new application versions.
• Continuously improve operational tools and processes to enhance overall efficiency and effectiveness.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support database-related needs and initiatives.
• Document processes, configurations, and changes to maintain clear records and facilitate knowledge sharing.
• Provide support and guidance to team members and stakeholders regarding database best practices and troubleshooting.
• Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with industry trends and advancements in database technologies.

Requirements

• A higher education degree in computer science or a related field.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, specifically with PostgreSQL and MongoDB.
• Strong proficiency in scripting languages, particularly in a Linux environment.
• Experience with version control systems, especially GitLab.
• Proven track record of managing database performance and resolving complex issues.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Familiarity with database security protocols and best practices.
• A proactive attitude towards continuous learning and adapting to new technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience with cloud-based database solutions or services.
• Knowledge of additional database management systems, such as MySQL or Oracle.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and practices.
• Certification in database administration or related technologies is a plus.

Practical notes

• The position is based in Aix-en-Provence, France, and requires on-site presence.
• The salary range for this position is between €55,000 and €70,000 gross per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
• For freelance candidates, the daily rate is between €400 and €550.
