About the role
CIM Group is actively seeking a Senior Analyst, Financial Reporting to integrate into our finance team based in Phoenix, Arizona, where you will play a pivotal role in the oversight of public fund financial operations. In this capacity, you will own the consolidation and validation of financial data to ensure the highest level of accuracy in our reporting outputs. Your responsibilities will center on the preparation of financial statements and SEC filings, requiring a strong sense of ownership and accountability for deadlines and deliverables. - Execute the intake and consolidation of source data to establish a robust foundation for financial reporting accuracy.
- Author detailed journal entries and execute comprehensive reconciliation procedures to validate numerical integrity for regulatory compliance.
- Review all financial outputs to ensure strict alignment with established accounting policies and current regulatory requirements.
- Deliver timely fund reports that meet stringent deadlines and satisfy internal expectations for quality and completeness.
- Configure and manage financial systems such as Hyperion and Essbase to facilitate reliable data handling, reporting, and system integrity.
- Guard data integrity through systematic checks and balances embedded within BlackLine and related financial platforms.
- Maintain detailed procedural documentation to support the execution of internal controls, audits, and external examinations.
- Support the preparation of SEC filings, including forms mandated under Regulation S-K and Regulation S-X, ensuring all submissions are precise and compliant.
- Track discrepancies across reporting cycles and propose procedural fixes to advance internal controls and reduce manual risk.
- Partner with investment teams to clarify assumptions and ensure alignment between financial models and reporting outputs.
- Streamline reporting workflows by identifying inefficiencies and implementing process improvements that enhance reliability.
- Serve as a key point of contact for cross-functional stakeholders seeking clarity on financial data and reporting methodologies.
- Monitor the application of accounting standards to ensure consistency and compliance across all public fund reporting activities.
- Contribute to special projects that enhance the overall effectiveness of the financial reporting function.
Requirements
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field or possess equivalent professional experience that demonstrates a comparable level of expertise.
- Bring a minimum of three to five years of experience in financial reporting, accounting, or a related discipline to the role.
- Show a solid understanding of SEC regulations and fund accounting principles that are essential for success in this environment.
- Demonstrate high proficiency with Microsoft Office, with a particular focus on advanced spreadsheet functions and analytical capabilities.
- Exhibit the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and see complex tasks through to completion with minimal supervision.
- Maintain a sharp focus on precision and detail to ensure that all financial outputs are accurate and reliable.
