About the role
The Senior Accountant, Infrastructure Accounting at CIM Group plays a critical role in ensuring the financial accuracy and compliance of our diverse infrastructure investment structures. In this capacity, you will own the detailed application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) to prepare high-quality financial deliverables for our real estate and infrastructure funds. You will be responsible for supporting the full lifecycle of quarterly close processes, including the design of intake routines and validation of transaction documentation. This position requires a high level of analytical rigor to monitor investment-level activity, cash requirements, and to ensure consistency across property, portfolio, and fund data. You will work in a detail-oriented environment where sound judgment and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently are essential for success. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to support investor reporting, audits, valuation, and operational improvements, directly contributing to our mission of creating meaningful value for the communities we serve.

- Develop comprehensive close checklists that ensure strict alignment among property, portfolio, and fund data with established reporting calendars and firm deadlines.
- Conduct exhaustive reviews of trial balances and detailed reconciliations to identify and resolve discrepancies prior to the release of external financial reporting.
- Deliver precise financial reports that satisfy stringent internal control frameworks and facilitate efficient reviews by both internal audit and external auditors.
- Partner with valuation and operations colleagues to confirm key assumptions and enhance the integrity, consistency, and accuracy of financial data inputs.
- Coordinate cross-functional efforts to drive continuous process enhancements that reduce manual steps, eliminate redundancies, and strengthen consistency across all accounting cycles.
- Lead the maintenance of detailed workflow documentation that provides clear, actionable guidance for current and future team members maintaining these high standards.
- Monitor investment-level metrics and cash requirements to ensure adherence to fund mandates and regulatory obligations.
- Serve as a primary technical resource for complex accounting issues related to real estate and private equity structures within the infrastructure portfolio.
- Facilitate the timely completion of month-end and quarter-end closing activities by coordinating with various stakeholders to gather necessary information.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable accounting standards and internal policies while supporting the external audit process as required.
- Analyze financial trends and variances to provide insights that support strategic decision-making and operational improvements.
- Maintain organized and secure records of all accounting documentation in accordance with corporate retention policies and audit requirements.
- Contribute to the development of best practices and methodologies for infrastructure accounting within the organization.
Requirements
Candidates must hold three to five years of relevant experience handling real estate and private equity accounting tasks within complex structures and diverse investment vehicles. A strong understanding of GAAP policies is mandatory when preparing reports for funds, limited partnerships, and related investment entities. The ability to manage multiple priorities independently while maintaining strict attention to detail in fast-paced, deadline-driven scenarios is not optional but mandatory for this position. Clear, concise communication with cross-functional partners is necessary to confirm data integrity, resolve issues, and close open items efficiently and accurately. You must demonstrate a proven capacity to exercise sound judgment and maintain composure under pressure in a detail-oriented environment. This position is based in Phoenix, Arizona, and requires the incumbent to work on-site during standard business hours. The engagement is full-time, and the compensation package includes a base salary of $130,000.00.
