About the role

CI&T is seeking a backend specialist to develop artificial intelligence solutions that drive business results for global organizations. You will join a team of 8,000 professionals focused on deploying AI-native applications and modernizing technical infrastructure. In this capacity, you will own the architecture and delivery of scalable backend services that power intelligent applications across diverse industries. Your work will directly translate complex AI capabilities into reliable, high-performance systems that meet enterprise demands. You will be responsible for ensuring that artificial intelligence workflows are robust, maintainable, and aligned with strict business objectives. Collaboration with data scientists, product managers, and delivery teams will be central to your day-to-day responsibilities. You will contribute to the full lifecycle of backend development, from initial design through deployment and continuous optimization. Your role will be critical in bridging advanced AI methodologies with production-grade engineering standards.

What you'll do

• Architect and implement backend services that integrate artificial intelligence capabilities into enterprise-grade business solutions.
• Design and apply agentic SDLC methodologies to refactor, optimize, and modernize existing applications for improved scalability and performance.
• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to uncover strategic opportunities and convert AI potential into concrete, measurable business outcomes.
• Develop and maintain robust APIs and microservices that enable seamless communication between AI modules and frontend applications.
• Implement automated testing and deployment pipelines to ensure the reliability and security of AI-driven backend systems.
• Monitor application performance and troubleshoot complex issues in production environments to minimize downtime and maximize user satisfaction.
• Collaborate with data engineering teams to optimize data flows, storage strategies, and processing logic for AI workloads.
• Evaluate emerging backend technologies and integrate best-of-breed tools that support the evolution of the data and AI platform.
• Document technical designs and implementation details to ensure knowledge sharing and continuity across the delivery team.
• Mentor junior developers by providing guidance on coding standards, architectural patterns, and AI integration techniques.
• Coordinate with security and compliance stakeholders to ensure that all backend solutions adhere to organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency, scalability, and maintainability of the technical stack.

Requirements

• You must reside in the Metropolitan Region of Campinas and comply with the company policy that mandates in-person attendance at local offices as required.
• You must possess a strong background in backend development with demonstrated experience in designing and maintaining scalable, high-availability systems.
• You must be proficient in programming languages commonly used for AI backend development, such as Python, Java, or similar enterprise-grade languages.
• You must have a solid understanding of artificial intelligence concepts, including machine learning pipelines, model integration, and data processing workflows.
• You must have experience with cloud platforms and infrastructure-as-code practices to deploy and manage distributed applications in production environments.
• You must have a proven track record of collaborating effectively within cross-functional, agile teams in fast-paced delivery environments.
