About the role
Checkr is on a mission to establish a robust identity verification layer for the hiring process, addressing the increasing challenges posed by AI-driven fraud, synthetic identities, and credential forgery. As the Staff Product Manager for Hiring Fraud Solutions, you will take charge of defining the strategies that organizations can use to authenticate genuine candidates while effectively preventing fraudulent activities at every stage of recruitment. Collaborating closely with engineering and operations teams, you will spearhead the development of innovative products that set a new benchmark for trust in hiring practices.

What you'll do
- Lead the strategic direction and development roadmap for all products related to Identity Risk and Hiring Fraud, including dashboards, APIs, and established partner integrations.
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to identify valuable opportunities and predict customer needs effectively.
- Collaborate with Product Marketing to devise comprehensive go-to-market strategies, ensuring alignment with other product teams for seamless integrations, and working with Business Development to embed partnerships.
- Develop and prioritize a multi-release feature roadmap that addresses both immediate and long-term product goals.
- Act as the primary advocate for strategic customers, building strong relationships and ensuring their needs are represented in product development.
- Monitor product performance metrics and pinpoint areas for growth and enhancement.
- Represent Checkr at various customer engagements, industry conferences, and through community outreach and social media platforms.
- Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the team, encouraging the exploration of new ideas and approaches to combat hiring fraud.
Requirements
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field is preferred.
- At least 7 years of experience in product management, specifically in areas related to risk management, fraud prevention, and identity verification technologies such as identity proofing, document verification, biometrics, and signals related to hiring fraud.
- Comprehensive understanding of fraud detection methodologies, including threat modeling, risk assessment, anomaly detection, and identity spoofing detection, with a strong emphasis on data-driven decision-making.
- In-depth knowledge of the recruiting landscape, including ATS platforms, recruitment workflows, and compliance requirements in hiring.
- Proven experience in developing scalable and adaptable platforms that effectively address evolving fraud challenges rather than implementing temporary solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional teams, influencing stakeholders in engineering, operations, legal, and sales without direct authority.
- A proactive mindset, resilience in navigating ambiguity, and a strong sense of ownership over project outcomes.
