About the role
The owns the design and execution of AI enablement initiatives that transform how the organization operates. You will serve as the primary driver of AI adoption, working directly with cross-functional teams to understand complex needs and translate them into scalable intelligent solutions. This role requires you to configure tools, build working prototypes, and deliver reusable systems that measurably improve workflow efficiency and decision quality. You will champion a teaching mindset, empowering engineers and business stakeholders to harness AI technologies confidently and independently. The position is highly visible within the organization and demands a strong commitment to clarity, documentation, and sustainable practices. You will own the full lifecycle of AI solution delivery, from initial discovery and requirements gathering through implementation, evaluation, and ongoing optimization. Success in this role means ensuring that AI powered solutions remain useful, reliable, and integrated within everyday workflows long after the initial deployment.

What you'll do
Conduct in depth discovery sessions to map current workflows and uncover opportunities where AI can alleviate pain points and unlock new capabilities.
Translate cross functional demands into concrete AI use cases by defining requirements, success metrics, and evaluation criteria for each initiative.
Configure and customize AI tools and workflows to address specific business problems while ensuring solutions remain maintainable and scalable.
Build and maintain prompt libraries, workflow templates, and reference architectures that enable teams to self serve on AI experiments and deployments.
Run regular office hours and hands on workshops to turn ambiguous questions into working prompts and deliver quick wins that demonstrate tangible value.
Evaluate the AI tooling landscape, perform build versus buy analyses, and recommend strategic investments that align with Checkr's long term vision and risk profile.
Architect templatized agentic workflows that can be reused across departments without breaking, facilitating consistent and efficient adoption of AI capabilities.
Develop bespoke solutions using RAG, LLMs, and automation to solve urgent business problems while maintaining alignment with security and compliance standards.
Create comprehensive training materials, documentation, and live demos that accelerate AI fluency and empower employees to leverage technology effectively.
Partner closely with security, data, and engineering teams to ship solutions that are not only innovative but also compliant, reliable, and operationally sound.
Define and track key performance indicators for AI solutions, using data to iterate on designs and prove impact to stakeholders.
Establish best practices and governance frameworks that guide responsible AI usage across the organization.
Lead proof of concept projects from conception to production, ensuring smooth handoffs and clear ownership for ongoing maintenance.
Mentor and uplevel other team members by sharing knowledge, providing code and configuration reviews, and fostering a culture of continuous learning around AI technologies.
Requirements
You will bring a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience, with graduate study preferred as a demonstration of advanced technical knowledge.
You will offer 5 plus years of experience in engineering or solutions roles, with a track record of deploying solutions that measurably enhance productivity and business outcomes.
You will provide 3 plus years of hands on experience building AI features and integrating them into production systems, demonstrating familiarity with the full lifecycle of AI powered products.
You must be comfortable gathering requirements from diverse stakeholders, evaluating a wide range of AI tools, and standing up scalable workflows under tight deadlines and shifting priorities.
You must be comfortable learning new technologies quickly and translating complex ideas into practical, executable steps that non technical teams can understand and adopt.
You must demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling you to explain technical concepts clearly to executives, engineers, and end users.
You must be able to work independently and as part of a distributed team, taking ownership of your work while collaborating effectively with colleagues who have different perspectives and expertise.
You must be committed to following Checkr's processes and guidelines, ensuring that all solutions adhere to company policies, security standards, and regulatory requirements.
Nice to have
Experience teaching technical audiences and running hands on workshops is valued as a way to accelerate organization wide AI adoption.
A background in designing training programs or facilitating hackathons is beneficial but not required, particularly for those interested in building internal capability around AI.
