About the role
Chartis is currently seeking an experienced Engagement Manager to join the Revenue Cycle Practice and lead healthcare provider clients in the full spectrum of revenue cycle-related Epic projects. In this role, you will own the planning, execution, and successful delivery of implementation and optimization initiatives focused on charging, coding, reimbursement, and billing compliance. You will ensure that system design and workflows actively support financial accuracy, operational excellence, and audit readiness for our clients. A core part of this position involves providing strategic guidance on revenue integrity workflows while managing cross-functional teams and serving as a trusted advisor to key stakeholders. You will be instrumental in aligning Epic configurations with best practices to reduce denials and optimize reimbursement for healthcare organizations. This is a remote position with 25-50% client travel required.

What you'll do
- Lead implementation, upgrade, and optimization projects specifically centered on revenue integrity areas within the Epic ecosystem.
- Define project scope, timelines, and success metrics in close collaboration with IT and finance leadership to ensure alignment with organizational goals.
- Ensure system design and workflows actively support robust charge capture, strict compliance, comprehensive audit readiness, and effective denials reduction strategies.
- Provide expert guidance on Epic charge capture workflows, charge router logic, coding workflows, CDM maintenance, and billing edits to maintain revenue integrity.
- Support clinical and administrative departments in building compliant, optimized workflows that align precisely with CMS regulations and payer requirements.
- Verify that system-generated charges are appropriate, accurate, and mapped correctly from downstream billing processes to prevent revenue leakage.
- Collaborate closely with clinical departments to reduce charge lag, eliminate late charges, and capture missed reimbursement opportunities efficiently.
- Act as a trusted advisor to revenue cycle, compliance, HIM, and finance stakeholders, translating complex technical information into actionable insights.
- Lead stakeholder meetings and steering committees, providing concise updates, risk mitigation strategies, and executive briefings to senior leadership.
- Manage a matrixed team consisting of Analysts, Associate Consultants, Consultants, Systems Specialists, and Business Process Consultants effectively.
- Provide mentorship and professional development to junior team members to strengthen overall team capabilities and engagement.
- Leverage deep expertise in Epic's revenue cycle roadmap and integration points with revenue integrity to influence solution design.
- Utilize experience with revenue integrity dashboards, audit preparation methodologies, and charge capture reconciliation tools to drive improvements.
- Apply strong analytical skills to assess healthcare finance, revenue cycle operations, and regulatory requirements impacting client workflows.
- Demonstrate excellence in project management, stakeholder engagement, and communication to navigate complex healthcare environments successfully.
- Lead and facilitate change management initiatives across clinical, financial, and operational domains to ensure smooth adoption of Epic solutions.
Requirements
- Possess 5+ years of experience leading Epic projects, including a minimum of 3 years managing projects specifically related to revenue integrity.
- Hold Epic certification in Resolute Hospital Billing, Resolute Professional Billing, Charge Router, HIM, or other related modules relevant to revenue cycle integrity.
- Demonstrate proven success in managing large-scale, cross-functional Epic implementations or optimization efforts in healthcare settings.
- Exhibit deep knowledge of Epic's revenue cycle product roadmap and how various integration points affect revenue integrity and compliance.
- Have hands-on experience with revenue integrity dashboards, audit preparation processes, and charge capture reconciliation tools used in healthcare environments.
- Show a strong understanding of complex healthcare finance, revenue cycle operations, and intricate regulatory requirements governing billing and compliance.
- Maintain excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Possess outstanding stakeholder engagement, communication, and interpersonal skills necessary to influence at all organizational levels.
- Apply an analytical mindset characterized by meticulous attention to accuracy, auditability, and proactive risk mitigation in all deliverables.

Practical notes
