About the role
You will own the end to end supply chain execution for the SPARC Assembly program ensuring that all procurement activities align precisely with project timelines and engineering specifications. You will act as the primary liaison between internal project stakeholders and external suppliers to translate technical requirements into actionable sourcing strategies. In this capacity you will drive the development and implementation of tactical procurement plans that address capital equipment tooling and consumables needs. You will lead supplier qualification and onboarding processes to build a robust and reliable supply chain ecosystem for fusion energy delivery. You will manage ongoing supplier performance while mitigating risks and resolving issues in collaboration with cross functional engineering and operations teams. You will analyze spend data and market conditions to recommend cost effective solutions that support program scale up and commercial viability. You will coordinate with policy and regulatory partners to ensure all procurement practices meet current compliance standards and strategic objectives. You will contribute to the continuous improvement of supply chain processes to enhance efficiency and support the long term growth of the energy industry.

What you'll do
Develop and execute sourcing strategies for capital equipment tooling and consumables required by the SPARC Assembly team.
Perform detailed market analysis and supplier research to identify qualified vendors capable of meeting technical and regulatory requirements.
Lead the negotiation of contracts and commercial terms to secure favorable agreements while managing risk and ensuring program cost targets.
Establish and maintain supplier performance metrics to monitor quality delivery and responsiveness against established benchmarks.
Collaborate with engineering and project management teams to define specifications and evaluate alternative solutions for assembly needs.
Manage the end to end procurement process including requisition review purchase order creation and expediting to meet project schedules.
Partner with finance stakeholders to control spend analyze variances and support accurate forecasting of procurement budgets.
Drive supplier onboarding and qualification activities to ensure compliance with safety quality and environmental standards.
Resolve escalated supplier issues by coordinating corrective actions and documenting lessons learned for future procurement cycles.
Support the development of category strategies that align with the long term scalability and commercialization goals of fusion energy.
Conduct supplier assessments and audits to verify capability capacity and adherence to contractual obligations.
Implement process improvements that enhance supply chain visibility traceability and efficiency across the SPARC program.
Coordinate cross functional reviews of procurement plans to align with engineering changes project milestones and regulatory updates.
Leverage data analytics to forecast material needs identify trends and support strategic decisions for sustainable sourcing.
Champion best practices in supplier relationship management to foster innovation collaboration and continuous improvement.
Requirements
Demonstrated experience in supply chain procurement or vendor management within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
Strong understanding of procurement processes contract management and supplier relationship frameworks.
Ability to interpret technical requirements and translate them into actionable procurement specifications.
Excellent analytical skills with the capacity to evaluate supplier performance data and drive informed decision making.
Effective communication skills to engage with internal stakeholders and external suppliers at all organizational levels.
Proven capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced project driven environment.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail accuracy and follow through on commitments.
Willingness to collaborate closely with engineering project management and finance teams to achieve program objectives.
Nice to have
Experience in high tech energy or industrial sectors where regulated environments and strict compliance standards are present.
Familiarity with complex capital equipment procurement and long lead time item management.
Knowledge of supplier qualification frameworks and audit processes in manufacturing environments.
Experience with data analytics tools to support procurement insights and spend management.

This role is full-time.
This role is located in Devens, MA.
Employment authorization is required.
Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States now or in the future.
This role may require travel between facilities as needed to support supplier engagements and project activities.
