About the role
You will own the end to end procurement coordination for capital projects, ensuring that material and service acquisition aligns precisely with engineering specifications and project schedules. You will conduct light negotiations with vendors, clarifying requirements and managing expectations to secure favorable terms without exceeding established budgets. You will be responsible for issuing purchase orders, tracking their status, and resolving invoice discrepancies to maintain accurate and auditable records. You will leverage data analytics to monitor spend, identify trends, and generate insights that support strategic sourcing decisions for the engineering and construction teams. You will act as the primary liaison between technical stakeholders and suppliers to confirm deliverables and resolve operational issues. You will manage the order follow up process, ensuring timely receipt of goods and services while mitigating risks associated with delays or quality concerns. You will contribute to the development of supplier relationships and support the evaluation of new vendors in alignment with corporate sustainability and compliance standards. You will maintain rigorous documentation and reporting to facilitate continuous improvement in procurement processes and support the company's rapid growth trajectory.

What you'll do
Coordinate the end to end procurement process for capital projects, translating technical requirements into actionable purchase plans.
Perform light negotiations with suppliers to clarify specifications, adjust terms, and confirm quotations before finalizing agreements.
Issue purchase orders using the company's systems, ensuring all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal controls.
Analyze spend data and generate reports to identify cost saving opportunities, forecast needs, and support budget management.
Resolve invoice discrepancies by investigating mismatches between orders, deliveries, and vendor bills, and drive resolution with internal and external parties.
Follow up on open orders to monitor lead times, track shipments, and proactively address potential delays that could impact project timelines.
Manage vendor communications to confirm deliverables, validate quantities, and escalate issues related to quality or compliance when necessary.
Support the evaluation and onboarding of new suppliers by gathering information, verifying references, and assisting with documentation requirements.
Maintain detailed records of procurement activities, including contract terms, change orders, and correspondence, to ensure full traceability.
Apply analytical skills to interpret procurement metrics, track key performance indicators, and recommend process improvements to leadership.
Collaborate closely with engineering and project management teams to align procurement strategies with evolving project demands and milestones.
Utilize problem solving techniques to address supply chain disruptions, finding alternative solutions that minimize risk and maintain project momentum.
Support continuous improvement initiatives by documenting best practices, updating procedures, and contributing to knowledge sharing across the supply chain function.
Assist in the implementation of new tools or systems that enhance procurement efficiency, data accuracy, and visibility into the supply chain.
Requirements
Be legally authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship, as this role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.
Be physically present in, or relocate to, Devens, Massachusetts, as this position requires onsite work at the company's location.
Possess the right to work in the United States based on your citizenship, permanent residency, or other valid work authorization that does not require sponsorship from the hiring company.
Have a proven track record of experience in procurement, purchasing, or a related supply chain function, demonstrating familiarity with purchase order systems and vendor management.
Have strong written and verbal communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with cross functional teams and professional interactions with suppliers.
Be proficient in using Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel, to manage data, create reports, and perform basic analysis.
Be able to manage multiple priorities in a fast paced environment, balancing competing deadlines while maintaining attention to detail.
Demonstrate a high level of integrity, reliability, and professionalism in all interactions, ensuring confidentiality and compliance with company policies.
Be comfortable working independently and as part of a team, taking ownership of tasks while supporting broader organizational objectives.
Nice to have
Previous experience in the energy, engineering, construction, or technology sectors, where understanding of capital projects and regulatory environments is beneficial.
Familiarity with enterprise resource planning systems or specialized procurement software beyond basic Excel, such as for automated purchase order workflows.
Experience with data visualization tools or the ability to create dashboards that help stakeholders interpret procurement performance.
Knowledge of supplier risk management practices, including financial health assessments and diversity sourcing initiatives.
Understanding of lean principles or continuous improvement methodologies such as Kaizen or Six Sigma, applied to procurement operations.
Exposure to companies with high growth profiles, where agility, rapid decision making, and adaptability are essential.
Experience supporting international or multi site initiatives, where coordination across regions or time zones is required.
Ability to learn and adapt to new systems, processes, and evolving business requirements in a dynamic startup environment.
